Thank you for the compliments, i am very anxious to get it out on the road soon.
I am very emotional about my cars etc, and i tend to get Grumpy. Hence the name lol. Work has been a bear, and so has the car so i took a break from the car to get on even keel again and now will finish the car.
Got the speedo back from John at Redline. i am very happy with it, considering it was only an 85 mph unit before. I guess he forgot to reset the odometer to zero for me? lol oh well no biggy.
ok the stereo is the big holdup. Its a ton of work to put one in a C3, and my buddy is building the speaker boxes to fit. The sub box is 22"x 11"x6" The amp to drive the sub sill mount on the face beside the sub. There is another amp tucked up under the front of the consul to run the front speakers and the rear 6x9 speakers. The 6x9 boxes are 7-1/2" x 11"x6" to mount on either side of the sub.
Spent the better part of the day working on the front wheels and tires. Will get the rears off this week, re bleed the brakes, adjust the E-brake And double check the trailing arms etc. Then get the rear wheels to look like the fronts.
WOW Great job !
I have an 80 and its cool to see your work, it is very inspireing.
I love this year of car, when I think of a corvette, this body style has always been exactly what comes to mind.
Ireally dig this thread,
Spreading the 80's love.

red (or any shade there-of) over white (oyster) has always been my most favorite C3 colors. I am truly jealous. I mean, REALLY jealous of your car Mr Grumpy. You have one in a million there.
I just finished painting the underside of the hood. Thursday is the rear wheels, bleed the rear brakes again, adjust the e-brakes. All thats left is the seats and rear compartment cover, then off to the muffler shop and wheel alignment next week.
your car is coming along great. nice job on the wheel i have to do that to mine but i have been putting it off. what kind of paint did you use? and nice job on the speedometer looks great.
Thanks Larry G. The wheels were sanded with 220 and a scotch brite pad, then masked off with good scotch masking tape. I used an etching primer to bite into the aluminum, then covered with a sandable primer. The flat black is a plasti-cote paint, followed by 2 coats of clear. All the primer and paint is a spray bomb version from the local parts distributor we have here.
John at Redline did the speedometer for me, and yes it looks great.
I have the rear cubby cover in and the seats are in. The appraiser was over tonight to look at the car, i should have that back this week. The Exhaust and wheel alignment takes place this week as well, so should be driving it this weekend. One word of advice, the rear cubby cover doesnt fit like the factory one. Its got a thicker surface, and the battery wont fit now? I am going to have to see if i can get a side post to work.
