The engine compartment is coming along, just waiting for some linkage stuff to show up to make it all connect. Not sure if the hood is going to close on this? anybody have any thoughts on this?
#1 Had to trim a casting flange to get the kickdown bracket to fit.
#2 Had to make Factory throttle bracket 1" longer to fit, cut it in the center and welded in an inch spacer.
#3 Not sure if the hood will close? Was hoping we didnt get too much taller with this intake and carb setup.
WOW! what a awesome job you are doing!! i hope to do something like yours in the near future. i currently have a 82 thats in very good shape but we also have a 1980 L82 thats been floating around in the family that i would like to restore like yours! thanks for posting and giving us motivation!! can't wait for the video!!
Once i started to assemble the air conditioning, i realized how bad the old fuel system looked, and how difficult it was going to be to get at the filter and line etc. So i decided to go with the Edlebrock deal.
Well thats it i am totally pissed off at this build now that i no longer want to look at it. I will take the summer to decide if i will sell it or finish it. The car is a total disappointment, and so are the majority of the vendors that sell crap that does not fit.
I bought a 2009 GSXR 1000 sport bike, and have had way more enjoyment than i though possible on it. I may sell the vette unfinished cut my losses and buy another sportbike .

You just have to hook a few more things up and then put in the interior! Your almost done, at the finish line!
If someone does buy it, they are pretty much buying a new Corvette...
You're almost THERE man! Maybe what you should do is take a week or two off, then come back and slap it back together as best you can, drive it for the summer, enjoy it a little. Then come back next winter and do the interior like you had planned ...or sell it.

So long for now have a good summer all.
Count me FIRST in line as a buyer.
Otherwise, I offer you this. I am retired. Put me up and I'll come help you finish it- free-just room and board. Deal? That lil gem you got there deserves to be finished. Take a break and refocus. Call me, I'll help. Or ,I'll buy it...mike j.
Hello Sheldon, I have to agree with the others. You can not quit now. You are almost there. Put it aside for awhile. Get some R&R as I am sure you have been at it quite hard trying to get it all done. After some time out, you will get back at it with a different attitude and finish it off. It will be all worth it. Definitely a nice car you have there plus a sportbike doesn't compare to a Corvette (previously owned a KAWASAKI ZX6-R - after the novelty wears off it gets old pretty fast - uncomfortable buzzy ride) Owned many Vettes since I was 17 years old (long, long, long time ago) and I have never lost the feeling yet. Can't feature myself "Vetteless". You will regret selling it. KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE.
New stereo and interior starting to go back in. I went through and assembled all the gauges again, re-lamped the dash. Waiting on the new speedometer to get back from Redline. The new consul and accessories were installed.
Just wanted to add my 2 cents. I stumbled across your thread this morning and just spent the last 10-15 min. looking at the photos of your job. Excellent work. You are the core of the hobby. We work in garages too small, on our backs with hand tools, a small set of torches and a bench vise. We all would love a shop like they have on TV where they don't have to find a hole for the lawn mower or pray that a garden rake doesn't fall off the hook and into the side of the car. Hang in there, the attention to detail shows, you're doing it right.

Thank you for the compliments, i am very anxious to get it out on the road soon.
I am very emotional about my cars etc, and i tend to get Grumpy. Hence the name lol. Work has been a bear, and so has the car so i took a break from the car to get on even keel again and now will finish the car.

Yes Sir; Mr, Grumpy, You are doing a great job on your car. I see you did what I did on the console side panels, bought the boards, I hope you have better luck in making them fit than I did. I finally threw them in the trash and went to the upholstery shop & bought the correct Cardboard material that the car came with. You need your original ones to make the pattern, you can then form the cardboard to fit the console, Correctly. In my Opinion, these wood boards need to be taken off the market. I do have the original cardboard ones, which I can make you a paper copy of, & send them to you, when you get Hacked off with the wood ones never looking right. Your Corvette forum follower. Gene
