Yes. The dealers could install them. (not a factory option)

I don't get that, was it just a thing for cars in that day to not have them or was it specific to corvettes? I can see that it wouldn't be that hard to get by without one in a C3 vette because of the smaller back end and you have a rear view mirror but why did they do it?

My Custom Feature Accessories Camaro Corvette Brochure shows the same right-hand rearview mirror as an accessory on 3 different pages, for both Camaros and Corvettes. All of the pics of the Camaro show mirrors on both doors. All of the pics of the Corvette show a driver's side door mirror.

While I'm sure the right-hand door mirror is a dealer installed option on the Corvette, I was hoping to get a better indication for the Camaro from my brochure ... but it's not that clear.

The right-side mirror feature didn't really become popular until the mid-60's and later [except for the chrome-laden big cars of the mid/late 50's...the more chrome, the better...]. So, the factories didn't really think it necessary to add them. Also, with the flat mirrored surface, you couldn't really see that much, anyway. When the curved surface mirrors became available, everything came with one on the right side. I'm not sure, but right-side mirrors may be federally mandated now.

Ahhhhh, mid-fifties customs. Dual Spotlights. Dual Mirrors. Dual Antennas. And thank goodness only a single Continental Kit.
