2000,
GREAT work!!! I see you're in Florida, so you probably don't need a heater, but what about AC? I noticed your pass side shield and heater block off plate would make it impossible to fit an AC unit without some severe cutting. Also, as you are running electric fans, what about a spreader bar in there?
Keep up the good work, and show more photos when ready.

7 months to go
i decided to eliminate the a/c to save weight. it took almost 70lbs off the car and it never worked well the whole time i have had the car, even when it was my d/d. i guess i just got used to no a/c. i find myself riding with the windows down most of the time. if it were going to be a d/d i might have put in a new system. a custom spreader bar is comming. we are going to build it once the new suspension is in and the motor is set in place.
Just followed your interior thread, and WOW I'm definitely going to follow this thread, as well.
Do you have any pictures of the whole car? I'd love to get a real feel for how this thing looks.
i have a few in the rough stages right after i shot the car with the first coat of epoxy to protect it during the build stages. lots of body work left to do. i have not picked a set of rims yet either. i will post a few teaser pics of the exterior. i have a set of hooker sidepipes for the car and we are going to make a set of tribal designed heat shields. they will give the car a nice wide stance.

mounting tabs will be put on the edges for screws. there will be 1/8" rubber between them. the frame and body flex will not be enough to cause problems.
a few more pics. just a little more bends and pieces to make. next will be to clean up the factory welds and fill in all the holes. after that, body supports and the headlight mounts will be built together.
thanks for the positive comments. i have all the sheet metal done and the new suspension is in. i have tons of room now for the a-arms so that will not be an issue. i will be making rubber dust covers to go around them to keep the dirt out. the headlight mounts are now in. next week the motor will be going in to test fit everything and to run the wiring. then it all has to come back out for the body work to begin. i will take some pics and get them up in the next few days or sometime next week.
got a little more work done yesterday. i cant wait to take it all back out and get the frame painted. i will have everything in place and mounted. it will be ready to run to make sure there are no problems and that everything works and fits. then i will remove it all to do the body work. dont worry, for all the motor guys i will be running a pcv valve the breather and cap are just to keep junk out for the time being.

I think you snuck into my dreams one night and took notes of what I want done to my car....Now I am going to look like I am copying you once I get my interior done and once I get to the underhood section...I wish I had your drive so I could get my car done....Few things I had quesions on; are you planning on installing a spreader bar? Any plans for a rack and pinion setup?
yes i have a sperader bar. i just have not put it on yet. waiting to weld the mounts in once the acc. are on. i rewelded a lot of the frame. found lots of cracks and missed spots around the shock towers. something to really look at when you get there. i was going to do a rack but decided to stick with the original style stuff. i did get a stainless ram from vette brakes and i just picked up a rebuilt box from van steel. the service i have gotten from both venders has been great. the funny part is they are just down the street from each other. your interior was looking great last time i saw it. you have extreamly good skills for the work. dont worry about looking like a copycat. i think you actually started yours before i did. talk about drive, i do all this in just a few hours a week with the help of a good friend that has been teaching me everything. i work an average of 106 hours a week then a few evenings a week, this is my outlet for stress reduction.
as stated at the beginning of the thread, cooling will not be a problem. the front has been opened up letting in at least 2 times more air as it was stock. i am running dual spal fans with a dewitts aluminum rad. the side pannels will be cut and i am going to be running two trans. cooler fans to direct air out of the compartment through the side ducts. i am going to mount everything in the compartment before i decide where i want to cut the pannels. i just have not decided if i want to make them manual or if i want to tie them into the other fans.
