as stated at the beginning of the thread, cooling will not be a problem. the front has been opened up letting in at least 2 times more air as it was stock. i am running dual spal fans with a dewitts aluminum rad. the side pannels will be cut and i am going to be running two trans. cooler fans to direct air out of the compartment through the side ducts. i am going to mount everything in the compartment before i decide where i want to cut the pannels. i just have not decided if i want to make them manual or if i want to tie them into the other fans.
It all looks great!!I love the creativeness and planning that you have put into it!Very nice!
I had more work in letting the air escape then getting it in.You will probably be fine with the fans pulling it out.
Stay after it.We are watching!!
Is that a March Performance Serpentine setup? I just ordered a complete StyleTrack setup for our 351w from them last week with 140A Alt, P/S Pump w/remote reservoir, A/C Compressor, etc.
I love the engine bay layout! Had thought about it but unfortunately I'm running out of time so we'll simply go with a clean and wireless install. Keep up the photos as its coming along great!
yes it s a march set up. i have made a little more progress. i am waiting on the brown truck with to stop by so i can finish installing some lines. my 8" cooling fans arrived and look to be more than efficient for moving air out of the compartment. i will post some pics a little later.
its a hydroboost unit. requires no vac. it runs off the power steering pump. it has become a very popular mod for larger cammed cars. the only vac, i am running is for the pcv valve and for the trans. i took out the vac. tube in the front and i am going with custom fixed mounted headlights.
yes i am keeping the stock wipers just incase. you never really know if you are going to get cought in the rain sometimes here. i dont plan on driving in the rain but i will have them if i need to. the stock wiper motor is mounted in the stock location. the back cover has just a slight raised spot in it for the top of the motor cover to clear. i was tempeted to go with a remote mount cable driven motor but the stocker worked out just fine.

You're taking an engine bay to a new level.......VERY NICE!!....
When I did mine I thought about yankin' the wipers since I never do rain but I came up with this. I unhooked the arms at the motor & laid them down in the cowl. Then I made screen covers to cover up the holes they come through. If I ever need them I just need to pull the cover & hook 'em up.......

I thought it looked like you could hide the motor behind the panel. I have been looking for some way to clean up the engine bay area. I think you may have done about as good a job as possible. I may steal a few ideas from you when I redo mine. I’m like you I don’t think I will be driving in the rain, but I don’t want to get caught with my pants down either.
yep, it all has to come off once everything is on and tested. all the visible holes in the frame will be welded closed and smoothed off. the frame will get a good scrubbing and scuffing then be primed and painted. not sure on the paint yet though. it's between gloss and flat black or something in between. i am leaning in the direction of flat though.
the exhaust fans came in and the specs on them are perma-cool 8" 2100 cfm each pulling 4.5 amps. for their size, the amount of air they move is very impressive. i was very pleased when i set them near the side vents and felt the amout of air that was comming out. 4200 cfm should be plenty to keep under hood temps down. i will be posting the fab work of this set up in a couple weeks.
You can completely eliminate wipers by applying 'Rain-X' brand to your windshield. I have three cars including my Vette and never use the wipers on any of them.
