Gotta name it or it doesn't feel right, i always name my little baby. Ahhhhh the good ole days, mid fall with the t-tops out. No girl can bring that kind of joy and peacefulness. If I met one who could make me feel like the vette does I'de marry her. LOL
I named my C5 2002 coupe "Heather Rene" after my favorite waitress at Hooters because the car is so well built, beautiful & sexy.
I named my 1978 Pace Car (11,660 miles) " Teddy Roosevelt" because its a Rough Riding S.O.B.
I don't call them anything, my wife calls them "my problem, not hers". I was spending some time on the C4 forum and posted a picture of my 81, big mistake, don't post your C3 on the C4 forum. They called her my "disco Vette", not really happy about that. At least my "disco Vette" runs, which is more than I can say for many of them based on the number of posts screaming for help!
Much more class on this side
At least your car doesn't look like a C4 door stop.

Tho I've owned a late C4 myself, I never cared for the attitude shown towards previous generations (or even to each other) by a good many of the owners who's first Vette was a C4. It is that crop with which the wave began to die IMHO. If you're an exception, my apologies.
Oh, and at least we don't have anything like those early C4 Fisher-Price dash boards...
I named my '70 "Karma" because I bought it after I got divorced and had a lot of fun for a couple years. Then I got remarried, started taking the car apart for a resto-mod, and the "fun" has stopped...
I tried to name mine, but never found anything that stuck or was clever. She is simply known as the B**ch when I'm mad or the Beast when it's all good now. To me, she is both because she looks rough (paint's shot), drives rough (I have my suspension set to 11), but she's still one hell of a ride that I can't give up.
i had a hard enough time naming my dog. a car is a car and nothing else. i refer to it as IT, or THE VET. WAIT, IM WRONG, I HAVE REFERED TO IT AS THE MONEY PIT.
Given that I am the 2nd. and 4th owner of my '70 LT-1 Coupe, I call the Vette, "Boomerang". I bought the car from the original owner, owned it for 10 yrs. sold it to a buddy who owned it for 25yrs. and then I bought it back from him. Call him, Boomer" for short. I seem to name all my cars, I have a '72 SS Camaro that is called Maytag 72. Ex wife said it sounded like a Maytag washing machine on spin cycle that was out of balance. Thus, Maytag's name was given.
Have not come up with a good name for the vette ( nothing sounds right), but my wifes Tahoe is known as "The Ho". My kid had an old mini van called Bob (bucket of bolts)
The '72 I call the '72, and the '82 I call the '82. When I'm not happy with them they are both referred to as the POS and it is up to the listener to distinguish which one I'm talking about or both.
Bruce. The name is Bruce. I was working on the car one sunny afternoon and to pass the time from re-attaching the window lifts and cutting the S*it out of my knuckles I was thinking of a name.
I wanted something "shark themed" so I was thinking Jaws, Great White, etc.
The ELO came on the radio with "don't bring me down" where one of the lines of the song is "don't bring me down, Bruce" (or at least that's what it sounds like).
Then I remembered the mechanical shark they used for the Jaws movies was nicknamed Bruce by the crew.
So there you have it. Shark themed, and a desperate plea for the car to behave. Works for me.
There may have been beer involved. Yeah, i'm sure there was beer involved.
