windshield header corner moulding

Default windshield header corner moulding

I have a 77 vette I need to get these moulding off so I can get them rechrome .How do they come off? I see the 2 screws took them out but nothing moves .

You mean the top moldings that the t-tops mount to? The windshield has to be out for those to be removed.

On my 72, there are 2 or 3 sheet metal screws that are UNDER the windshield, they screw in from the FRONT, into the windshield frame. It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to get them out without cracking the windshield. I know as it cost me a new windshield!!

I dont know about the 77, but I suspect it is the same.

The windshield almost certainly has to come out.

Yep, the W/S has to come out. I didnt think I needed a set too bad, but when my W/S was out I found out it was the time to replace them.

Hi G,
Here's a picture so you know what to look for when you get ready to take it off someday. You can see the 2 screws Rob mentioned between the trim clips.
