I am trying to figure out what to get a loved one for christmas. He's been a long-time member of this forum and is currently restoring a '75 Stingray. I would to hear from the community if there is some nifty gadget, part, or accessory I could get him for under 100 bucks. It would be even cooler if it could be personalized.
Hi PH,
My suggestion is to get the catalog from Mid America Motorworks.
They have a LARGE selection of gift type items... jackets, hats, shirts, etc.
Perhaps a polo shirt or sweatshirt with an embroidered Corvette emblem appropriate for his 75; you could have his name, or maybe his nickname for the car, embroidered under the Corvette emblem. If Mid America doesn't do that part (his name) you could have it done at a local sports team embroidery outfit.
I'll keep thinking!
Regards,
Alan
I would ask you to post a pic of the car or the engine compartment
but if he's on here the gig is up. Like Alan said get a catalog an thumb through it. Paragon is good take a look at his engine and maybe you can see something that he might need.
You could get him Hookers it would be the best Christmas he ever had.

That might not sound quite right to the young lady.
Purchase a brick in his name at the NCM. Makes a perfect excuse for a road trip to the museum to tour the NCM and find his brick, then cross the road and tour the plant.
The black satin jacket with "Corvette" and the 'crossed-flags' logo on the back (that is the correct logo for his car...other logos are for other series of Corvettes) and his name embroidered on the front is a good choice for around $100.
great response I can see why he loves this forum so much. First of all, thanks for clarifying about the Hookers-threw me for a loop at first haha . I will definitely search through all of the catalogues and websites you suggested. I also really liked the ideas for the black satin Jacket (7T1vette), the brick at NCM (Easy Mike), and the T-Top brief case since he does have the coupe (TexasTechDad).
Thanks again for all the help!
I will post what the final decision is when I figure it all out,
Gift Certificate is the way to go. He can go online right away and order what he wants/needs. (we always need something)
BTW...How resourceful of the OP to join the forum to ask for advice! I think I'll tell everyone that buys me useless stuff about this. (i.e. "I know that normally you would never wear a shirt like this but....")
Wilcox gift certificate or a digital picture frame. While restoring the car, you can load the pictures in to the frame and view while he working on his restoration.
These wrenches are really nice to have if he doesn't have them; I use them all the time, they're a real time saver, and they are $99.99... 1 cent under your budget!!

I've got one of those. Nice. It doesn't have my name on it, but I also didn't pay $100 for it.
I don't know your partner so I don't really have many ideas but I do know that he has a great partner
Looking at the post above by 1ARACE reminded me of some spanners that I have that are made by Alden. They come in Metric and SAE, not sure what would suit as I don't know if '75's are metric or imperial
Anyone who has had Corvettes for any amount of time knows that everything on them is in a hard to get at place While working on your Vette with spanners you must have had one of those bolts that is hard to get at and requires you to keep flipping the open end of the spanner so you can undo it(always just that bit tight for fingers )
Well.....here's the spanner for you(and me), I've had these for a while and they have been invaluable. they have a ratcheting head and require less movement to grab the bolt/nut head again.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
