1977 L48. Arizona car for most of its life, been in a PA barn for the last 4 years. Hopefully rust is minimal. It started right up in 12 degree weather.
As you can see, it needs some work. I'm going to start taking it apart to see where to begin. New carpet and weatherstrip has already been ordered...
Looks good. If it was you dads than im sure the price was right.
I don't know why but I like the brown interior!
Thanks J. I wasn't too sure about the brown interior as it had been a while since I had seen it. I thought I was going to change the color, but have decided I like it too. I'm going to try to keep it original for the most part, but will definitely need to do something about the lack of power.
Car looks good. Where has the car been living? Your avitar says Orlando Fl. I didnt think they got snow there. Hang on to that horn ring cap they were recalled back in 77 and are hard to find.

Arizona for most of its life, PA for the last 4 years. Thanks for the heads-up on the horn cap, I noticed that the parts places are selling them in color. I'll have to hold on to that one...
Hi W2R,
Looks like your dad's car will be a nice one for you!!!
Many barn cars need to be DRAGGED out, yours looks positively ALIVE. That really is a great picture of the car on the trailer with the barn in the background.
HAPPY NEW YEAR and good luck!
Regards,
Alan
That looks like a small truck and a heavy trailer to be hauling it all the way back to Florida. Must have a bigger engine. My new Chevy truck has a small V8. I'm wondering how it will pull the trailer. Let us know how the trip goes. Have a safe trip home with your new prize. BJ
It is really nice that it was your fathers. You know the history, not to many surprises. I like the brown also, it is different. Not the standard black. Have fun with the restoration and enjoy her.

I have a 2003 silverado with the 5.3 engine and many times I have pulled a fully loaded 6X12 trailer with no problems. If you use the trailer button on your shift lever it will alter the transmision shift points to a higher RPM giving you more power. Your gas milage will probably decrease by as much as 25%

Thanks! The truck is a 4.0 V6 (261 HP) Frontier with the six-speed manual. It's rated for 6500 lbs and I estimate the trailer and car is about 4500. So far it has pulled fine, I had to downshift to fourth to maintain 55 through the PA mountains, on the flat it'll cruise 75 no problem.

The 6 speed makes all the difference in the world, but unfortunately chevy don't offer a standard shift anymore in the small V8's or six. They say with the trailer mode button that you don't need it.

That trailer is closer to 1800 - 2000 lbs. With a 3500 lb Corvette, you are closer to 5500 lbs total.
