I found my '69 tank sticker intact and legible in 2004. The car was parked for 18 years. I have no problem believing the tank sticker was intact at all.
90% done still need to put the original steering wheel and some small trim pieces on. I plan on putting the car up for sale at Bloomington Gold. I only live 30 minutes away.
I will take some pictures as soon as possible. This is probably one of the rarest 69 Corvettes built being red/blue an export car and a three speed to boot. I do know there is a difference between rare and desirable so the question will be is it a desirable car, that being said i am not really sure what its worth but I am going to price it around 23k. The car with a couple of white stripes would be perfect for somebody into grand sports. I guess only time will tell.
I live in Ohio My 73 tank sticker was in good shape there are two cars in the area 75 roadster With Spec for paint code a 76 a guy who worked for GM had painted Cadillac red metallic new with spec trim paint.Back in the 70 they would Copo and do a lot more special things then they would today.
I just bought my 68 convertible a little over two years ago and it spent most of it's life down in the south . The tank sticker was still on the tank and still readable. I carefully removed it , made a copy of the original and carefully laminated the original to stop any future deteriation .
Here is a couple of pictures I took today. Its the original engine what I do not have is the original smog and manifolds or the original fan or valve covers. I do have the original upper shielding.
