I just got pointed to this thread... lol! Come on people these cars are supposed to be fun... Build em right, & drive em hard. I know I did. That was me in my 69 above... Thanks for posting Matt!!
BTW, that burnout was 16hrs from home, and I drove it there and back. Months later I put that car up for sale...Sold in 3 hours. Matt (Daytona69) Bought it and drove it across the country.... they can take some fun if you put them together correctly.
I drive toys, not museum pieces. But there will be a day when I buy that low milage, pristine car.... I'll hand over the cash and drive away leaving rubber in 3 gears. while yelling out the window..."Thanks for saving it for me!!!"

Btw, the donuts in yellow 68 BB.... Sweet!!!!!!!!
No burnout thread is complete without that video
Couldn't have said it any better...that car took everything thrown at it and NEVER broke because it was put together right in the first place. Not only did it do the Cruise In and cross country trips without a hiccup, I drove it regularly and wasn't gentle, including trips back and forth to Vegas in 100+ degree heat.

Ok, ok....hang on a second there. You are making a LOT of assumptions here, and you know what they say about assumptions. You are ASSUMING that the OP abuses his car "every time he drives it". You are ASSUMING that a mild burnout in the driveway is going to "beat" the car into something other than a sellable vehicle. And you are ASSUMING that the OP is planning on selling his car here in the forum. Maybe he has NO intentions of selling the car. Maybe he WANTS to spin the tires and have a little fun. And maybe, just maybe, he does really care what others think about what he does to HIS car. I would certainly NOT classify his video as abuse, in the classic sense of the term. Are you saying that you have never done that? I would HIGHLY doubt that...I mean, seriously. And his car looks to be pretty nice, at least from the video he posted, so to say "someone just wanting to buy a vette and not have to put all of that money in it surely will stay away from a car like that is a bit over-the top, don't you think? I mean, as you yourself pointed out, you have no clue what your own car went through before you got it....so what makes your car and YOUR purchase so much better? Just because you had the money to replace every part on your car? Puh-leeaze. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, just because a guy wants to leave a little tire rubber in the driveway.
Hey, It's your car ! I couldn't care less what you do with it because I will never buy it anyway but it just surprises me the level of immaturity that I am hearing but I guess I should expect that on a juvenile forum. It's odd how you don't see much of this on the other Corvette forums.

Lets face it a burn out is pretty juvenile....we all have done it and some will keep doing it,
Where is the car crafter kinship and camaraderie?
You calling this forum childish is like calling leprosy a manor skin rash,
I own, mod, and contribute ( if you call it that lol ) on more car forums than I can count and the only real downer here is how people lean to being negative, be it a little poke or an outright slam they look for the chance...I have fans who follow my posts just to poke at me.
If a person has thin skin forget it....with that said this is my favorite forum and I do have lots of people I respect here and some I call friends.....

That's not MY car...soooooo I won't be doing anything with it! But I do find it curious that you find defending ones rights to do with their own car as they please..."immature". I could say the same trite thing...making snide remarks at how some people think they are above others here on this forum. I don't consider myself think skinned...but I do know what Bat Boy is talking about. I TOO contribute where I can, although I will be the first to admit that I am in a constant state of learning from those that know more than I. I don't go out of my way to be a jerk to people....but I also won't sit idly by when I smell a steaming pile of . I mean really...who cares what the guy does with his car?? If he wanted to turn it into a giant BBQ grille with a cherub fountain mounted on the roof...what's it to you or me?
Hey Bats...... Fan????...... I do see why they get a kick out of you.
Bullshark
Aw Bullshark...I know how it is....I am outside the box in my thinking and posts, not another sheep in a flock,
Some people who take things like a car forum way too serious get their panties in big knots and get too upset,
It's all cool....
Whether you like the squeal and peel of tires on asphalt or it makes you tense up. This little video clip got a lot a reaction from a lot of folks. I can only offer one little piece of advice … if you feel the urge to let them spin make sure your not setting in gravel By the way Bats I love your posts they always offer a different view point
