From: Graceland in a Not Correctly Restored Stingray
leadfoot4, I've currently got 9 of them (8 good), plus a half-dozen CL's (2-14x15, used; 2-10x15, used; 2-3.5x15 Anglia spindle-mounts, NOS). Man, how stuff stacks up over the years...
American Racing has "re-issued" the Ansen Sprints, if you like the "slotted " wheels. The best part is they're "brand new" and not all that expensive. If you want OE style Rallys, but wider, Wheel Vintiques and Stockton Wheel can make them up.
The new ansen sprints are nowhere near as cool as the old ones. Looks like a flat piece of aluminum with kidney bean slots cut out of it. The old ones have a deep machined look to them. Look at my pic
I've got a set of aluminum 15x8 and 15x10 ET's. At least that's what the center caps say. I recieved them in American Racing box's. They look like the 5 spoked American Torque Thrust Wheel. The spokes are painted Black. They were on a Superformance Cobra(Uni-lug). I don't have any picture's or know the backspacing right now, since I'm in S.Florida at the moment. They are old and in need restoration. Just thought I'd run it by you.

No disrespect, but in looking at your picture, I'll assume that the wheel there is at least a 10" rim, correct? Naturally, it's going look "deep machined". Do you mean that the finish is "smoother", and not quite as "rough cut" as some of the later aluminum wheels? BTW, those flares and big wide wheels look really good!

You lucky dog!!!
Speaking of E-T wheels, they have both the 5 spoke wheels, as well as a Halibrand 10 spoke replica on their website. If you search "Team III Wheels", you should be able to find them.....
Thanks, "lvrpool", old age is getting to me...I meant the "Team III wheels".

I'm referring to the slots. They are much thicker and beefier than the new sprints, and have a radius to them, almost like a billet machined look.
15x7" Western 30-spoke Turbine wheels. Also came in 15x8.5" and 15x10" widths. Used to be ~$100/set used. BTW, IMO the 8.5" and 10" don't look as nice as the 7" because they appear too wide and lose the true "knock-off" look.
Those Vectors are or were really popular, they're still on a lot of Corvettes. How did those Vector wheels become so associated with Corvettes, I never see them on other cars.
Off topic, who made those weird slats for the tunnel window? Like the tunnel isn't already hard enough to see out of. Interesting look though.

Actually, there is that one car that they are on that everyone is familiar with.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
