Default Hunting old school wheels....

I had no idea finding what I call old school wheels would be like finding teeth in a chicken.

I guess it doesn't help that I do not really know for sure what style I want, I have never been all that jazzed up over wheels and several do look cool to me, like Slots, Turbines, and even the Cragar big spoke wire pimp wheels but I have never seen any that didn't have rust around the spokes,

The other thing is I want 15x10 for the rear 15x8 for the front seems most sets are all 8" wide.

I look on Craigslist and Fleabay but it seems every wheel on there is the newer taller import looking stuff,
I posted on here in parts but it's in with my ad for the rallys and redlines I have for sale so perhaps my "wanted" part is getting lost.

Are old school/used wheels just getting really hard to find?
I do not know where to look now, but hey if you have a set of wheels you don't dig hit me up....

Well a couple thoughts come to mind if you would be interested in Ansen Sprints. You can always keep looking on sites like www.racingjunk.com or you can buy 4 new 15x8s and have 2 widened to 10s by Weldcraft.

I dig those they have a great old school look on the c3....I believe several companies did their "version" of the slotted wheel and I will have to take care on a used set that all 4 do match

Finding the correct wheels might take as long as finding the perfect donor car... relax and keep looking and asking; they're out there you need patience and perhaps a more defined search parameter. Are Fenton or Ansen "slots" just the thing? AR Turbines or Vectors? Cragar SS's? Real (or fake) Centerlines? TruSpokes? Once the style is decided the search can get specific and intense... I just scored a set of nice Vectors for the '77... sourced right here on this board! You really don't need the actual rollers until final assembly anyway... there's time to be picky.

AMR still makes TT-D's that look pretty old school. These have been in production in slight variations for about 40 years I believe. These are 16x8 but hard to tell with naked eye. 10" widths may be hard to come by in the styles your looking for. There were some 15x10 GM rally wheels back in the day, but probably pretty scare these days and does not sound like what your'e looking for! Good Luck!

Which is why I didn't buy from him. I bought all 4 of my wheels fora a total of $350. All they need is a little polishing and elbow grease.

I think he wanted about $700 a pair for the ansen sprints

I had them in the early 80's... saved up and could wait to put them on this car. They really looked nice back then. American Vector... yup.

American Racing has "re-issued" the Ansen Sprints, if you like the "slotted " wheels. The best part is they're "brand new" and not all that expensive. If you want OE style Rallys, but wider, Wheel Vintiques and Stockton Wheel can make them up.

Today, I think you have to get a set of "Superlites", as I think the Westerns are long gone from the scene....
