For you fellas in the Northeast, me included......guess what....more of the white stuff is coming Tuesday night into Wednesday night. Early forecasts call for 12" and possibly up to 24".....don't blame me, I'm just the messenger.
Happy shoveling.....
Steve
You can have that shoveling crap!
Hit the remote, have a cup of coffee while it warms up, 10 minutes later clear driveway. We've had very little snow this year but that may change soon. My neighbors love me.
Yeppers Vette Fans....NOAA has forcasted and zeroed in on my area to be the heaviest / hardest hit, for today, tonight and tomorrow with 18-20+ more inches of snow expected.
Today was my third straight day of shoveling and snow blowing. All of my neighbors are now clear and mobile...if only for just another 12 hours. The novelity of this past weekend blizzard has worn off vey quickly, and with the impending storm due to start this afternoon...conditions in my area are getting serious. Stores have no supplies and gas stations are running out of gas. I am very concerned with the possibility of collapsed roofs, sheds and other downed power lines. The little bit of melting we have had... has just refrozen, so the simple weight factor is becoming a concern.
To give you an idea how heavy the weekend snow was....when I cleared the snow from my truck...it had bent all three of my bed supports inward. I was lucky though, as they just popped right back up after the sun hit them for a few hours. Ive lost 4... 40' trees and countless 5' trees and numerous shrubs. I strongly suspect I shall be having to completly re-landscape my entire home come springtime.

Stay in tune...
Here we go again! I'm a snow lover but enough already!
Next time they tell us an El Nino is coming I will be purchasing a snow blower! Thats for sure! Stay Safe all!
I was able to dig my SUV out yesterday so I could get to the store and restock before the next one here in DC. I stood in line for 45 minutes to check out because everyone else had the same idea. I will be taking the metro home from work today and will likely be snowed in again under the 10-20 inches we are expecting through tomorrow.
I'm so glad I upgraded to this 3 years ago. It's a Toro 826LE. Neighbors & wife thought I was nuts.......guess who wanted to "borrow" it?
It actually looks small in this pic.
I have that same model. I've never seen a SB with better controls than that one. Funny thing is that by the time I'm done being neighbourly I think spend more time out blowing than I did shovelling.
thanks Gregg thats my best friend, allways glad to see me even if I am broke with no food loves to ride even the 4 wheeler and most of the time the only one that will spend the whole day at the shop working on the vette with me.I am glad your pooch is fine.I lost my other last sept 10 years old.
I hate snow also. So far on this one it looks like we got lucky.
I did buy a Kubota tractor last year with a ft. end loader and it has been well worth it so far. This is by far the worst winter we have had here in S.W. Va. for a long time. Usally we have two or three stroms that total about 12 inches for all winter. This year we have had one 19 inch, two 10 inchs and mutiple snows from a dusting to 3-4 inches.
I am tired of (playing) on the tractor. I know this is sort of mild for my neighbors up North but it is getting old. I have cleaned my drive way between 1/8 and 3/16 of a mile long, my Grandmothers and my elderly neighbor driveway enough to burn 10 gal. of fuel so far. My drive way is very steep coming off of the highway and the lower third sits in shade all winter so if you don't get it off asap it just turns into ice and you end up sliding out in the road with no control.
In this pic. if you look down the hill at the black just starting to show that's where my driveway comes out.

all though this go around i got my act together and made a battery operated fan set up for the gas fireplace to circulate air through the fire box....basically a battery operated tent camping fan that is fitted to some airduct fittings going from an 8" circle to a 4x10 rectangle so it bellys right up to the bottom of the fireplace so when we lose power i still have heat.
i also got out all the coolers so after two hours of no power all the refrigerator food is coming out and going onthe front porch and i also loaded up the deep freezer with with frozen water bottles so that is good for several days of no power....did i mention i hate snow
Got 18" in round 1. So far 4" in round 2 and still falling. It's not always a bad thing. Here is the recipe for snow ice cream: 1 1/2 c sugar, dash salt, 3 eggs, tsp vanilla, 2 cups evaporated canned milk (or half and half). Mix all ingredients together and then add clean snow (off the top- do not get the yellow snow!) until it gels or thickens up like ice cream. Serve immediately. No, you will not die from acid rain, pollution or environmentally unsafe evil business practices.
Here's a pic of the creek on my property:
With this much snow my creek will be a flood without rain if it melt realy fast. It is down right ugly when that happens. If that occurs I will post a pic.
