So far, radiator removed, small pinhole leak repaired, and starter removed and rebuilt. Because of all the snow and cold weather, I too have had a hard time getting motivated, so those 2 things took 2 months. Got the car back together last weekend and drove it all weekend, and even to work on Monday. Now it's starting to warm up and I've got all the parts I need to get my back up lights working on order from Zip. Hoping they get here soon, I'm heading to the Run to the Sun car show in Myrtle Beach in 2 weeks and would like to have that done by then. First time driving the car down there!
The car is heading up to Jacksonville tomorrow ( Friday ) there is a great fellow who builds race engines and is doing me a 383,
The car will be gone about a week, in that time I am gearing up to replace all the suspension pieces that wear, scrape my toad pelts together for rack and pinion conversion and look more into swapping in a 4 speed automatic....
Removed front suspension, waiting for frame repair after I get the whole car in primer... greasy fingerprints scare me on crap primer/no paint. All cracks/bond lines squared from the doors back and first coat primer applied. I hope to get the doors in primer this weekend... come on warm weather, it's been a looong cold winter!
I've got one of those on the shelf that I bought a while ago for my next engine build. I'm still working on the shortblock, and the thickness of the cover got me wondering if it was going to fit behind the waterpump without doing some grinding. Did yours fit okay?
I had started replacing the weather stripping in the fall, then it just got too cold and then all the snow, , so i haven't done much since early December. There's still too much snow & salt on the roads to take it out, but the snow has been melting some, so there's some hope. At least I started it a few times and got to drive it early December right before the snow big snow storms started hitting us.
Here's to spring!
I had grand plans, but didn't get much work done for a variety of reasons. I replaced the weather stripping on my hard top, but the new stripping is so thick and bouncy compared to the old stuff, my springs on the latches can't seem to get a good enough grip on the pins, so when I drive it, the top rattles around something awful. I guess I need new springs, and/or a latch rebuild. I wanted to work on my vacuum leak/non-functioning AC ductwork (I am pretty sure the two are related), but all I got done was ordering a vacuum system troubleshooting guide. My wife was supposed to start on the addition of shoulder belts project (I need to change the seat frames), we bought some of the parts but I haven't seen any further progress on that. The good thing is that none of these unfinished projects will prevent me from enjoying the car, so I have no complaints.
I can't think of a single winter project that I started or completed. Spent months doing an addition to house and garage so I could hold 6 inside. Just finished the epoxy on the floors a few weeks ago and tomorrow I'll be assembling a couple of lifts that will be arriving at 9am.
Don't mean to steal thread but can I ask what floor coating you used and are you satisfied with it. It looks fantastic.

I ordered the base coat/clear coat from Epoxy-Coat.com. I did it over three weekends, shuffling things around to clear off 1/3 of the floor at a time. I'm very satisified with it so far. I just put two lifts on it yesterday.
I installed the Cold Air chamber in the 73's L-88 Hood. I had to do a lot of major re-engineering to get it to fit. The Hood is over 20 years old so it was expected for a new part.
The air cleaner is a K&N and it's fairly easy to squeeze into the chamber area. The air cleaner is also about a 3/4 inch shorter than the space inside the box. I glued on a strip of aftermarket weatherstripping to compensate for the gap. As much as I drive the "73, it won't need to be changed that often anyway.
Skiatook is a great place to live. I really like the "Oklahoma" small town life. Maybe I'll run into you Guy's this year at one of the many Car Show's around the area.
Winter project???? Heck, I'm still working on my Fall project.
Replaced heads, valvecovers, cam, rockers and push rods, intake, waterpump, repainted engine, engine bay and radiators while I had them out, new tranny gasket to replace leaky one, fabbed new hard fuel line and new TH350 vacuum line, replaced radiator hoses and clamps. I finally got it all hooked back up and am ready to break-in cam this weekend. I can't wait to feel the difference in the head/cam combo.
