Did you have to cut the transmission cross member to drop it in like that? I pulled the motor and left the transmission in when I did my motor swap (which was a major pain to get it stabbed back in place).
Still finishing up but improvements include adding power brakes, tilt steering column, new door glass, install new side exhausts, dumping that hard to reach brake light switch and adapting another type which is easy to get at, repaired the courtesy lights, repaired the tach and speedometer, converted to HEI ignition, and many small maintenance items. Looking forward to summer

Nope, I pulled the 540 out like that and put the 427 (picture) back in like that.
Took 3 guys to help make sure the paint job did not get messed up, one on each side and one on the ground guiding it up and over the cross member, even left the headers in and it just sat back in there like it was supposed too
Keeping the motor at a angle helped and using a rolling floor jack on the trans under the car made it easier too
