I saw 2 C3's today in traffic heading over the bridge in Long Beach Island, NJ......I wasn't in mine b/c I had my 5 yr. old with me and the car seat doesn't attach properly.
Is that you lookin like Stevie Ray Vaughan? Very 80's cool!!! I am in the middle of decomputerizing it, I kind of wish I gone with an 80 for that reason, but most guys know what its like when you fall for one you gotta have! :O)
Wierd, the last 2 I saw were at Autozone.
Mine doesn't have a state inspection yet, but I drove it about 20 miles tonight out in the country. Had to make sure the new clutches weren't chattering. I have to take it out Saturday under the radar to a garage 35 miles away, hopefully it will pass inspection
I keep mine tarped up over the winter, but I drive it as much as possible thru the summer. Only put about 3000 miles on it last summer testing all the modifications (read waiting for sh*t to fall off), nothing did so's I'm hoping to put more miles on it this summer.
I drive it as much as possible when the weather is nice. Problem is, I have 3 kids so most of the time the Vette isn't an option. I probably put about 2500 miles a year on it.
Lots of people weighing in on how many miles they drove in 2009. Some minimal analysis at the end by yours truly.
I see the occasional C3 out, usually rubber bumper cars though. I made it to one meet-up last year, and Jay71 was there with his '71 and Brett was there (I forget his screen name, but know it when I see it) with his '68, so some chrome bumper cars do get out around here. I drove mine 1278 miles last year, and hope to drive more this year in my '70.
I paid a lot of money for mine, and hope that in 20 years, the thing is a piece of junk because I have driven it into the ground, so pigeon farts don't bother me much. Maybe then my son will want to restore it
My High School Teacher owned my 82 since new and he drove it everyday for 22 years. I run it about 6-8 thousand miles a year before my daughter was born but my wife and others give me that look when I strap her baby seat in....
Will see how well the boost seat goes over
Yep, drive it often. Bought it 7 1/2 years ago with less than 19,000 actual miles. Now has about 85,000. Tomorrow night will run to North Carolina, for the weekend (600+ miles).
In May, making a run to Arizona (live in Virginia). Great driver and very dependable.
I drove mine a lot until it started having electrical problems.
Right now, I don't like to drive it far because the brakes are jacked up.. (thump thump thump... not very reassuring)
After I paint it and get new brakes and bearings.. thats another story.
I tend to drive it till something new breaks. Fix it, keep going and start all over again. Nothing like working on something you drive. Gives me a lot of satisfaction and fun.
Off on Fridays, Anybody in the Montgomery area is likely to see mine on the road. 72 and clear tomorrow.
To the beach Saturday. Riding with the top down has this certain effect on my redhead copilot.

Here in Wisconsin, once the snow melts (and it has), I'm in it.
Today I had to move some stuff with my truck. I picked my kid up at school in the truck and he wanted to know why I did not have the Vette. The kid loves riding in it. Mainly cause he's got a front seat. I think the cool factor at his age is secondary.
It gets a little warmer here and I'm having a hard time figuring out if I'm on the bike or the Vette.
i keep the Batmobile spotless & running perfect & i sometimes feel bad when i leave it alone & locked up when i'm out on the bikes, in warmer weather...
