- Door pulls made of metal (not stock)
- Steering wheel is missing the center and doesn't appear to be original
- Passenger side dash has something crazy going on.
- Antenna has been changed.
- Obvious: engine bay, speakers, headlights with a different color than body.

But when you see a car you dig on Fleabay...what I did was jump on the seller off auction and I bought the car over the phone and he ended the auction....now that is sniping...
Oh geez...is the pass door pull metal mending strip?

But hey, the e-brake console is '68. That's nice.
If the frame and birdcage are in good shape that could be a whole lot of fun for 9K. It needs some work but chrome bumper vettes are bringing a whole lot more money than that.

Some of us do not have a deep enough wallet to pay uber toad pelts for a "done" car and those of us like myself who want a modded car no "done" car would be done our way,

For pricing example my car a 69 Convertible is almost rust free, bird cage and frame which was most important to me...I mean really clean, but it spent most of it's life sitting in one garage or another unloved...it was driven 100 miles from 82 until now....the paint isn't bad and the interior is very nice,
It has it's issues, the body mods which I do not care about would be taboo for the purist,
And the "engine miss" was 3 bad jugs so in goes a 383 but even with that I have less than 10K in a car I can go drive, take to shows and cruises and have fun with...if people turn their heads to laugh at it so be it...what do they have?
Too many people get off trying to make the next fellow feel crappy.

Is my car worth what I paid?
If I asked this forum no way...it would get bashed and trashed...can you buy a car in the condition of mine for the price I paid? not too often...if you think you can show me a few,

Was my car worth the price?
To me it is priceless....
A buyer needs to run down what they want...an Award winning NCRS wet dream to be parked and admired and loved for it's rising value or some daily driver fun ride or something in between,
After you do that it's far easier to weed cars out...most will not be what you want.
Take your time it took me over 8 months to find my car...you will find your dream car too.

Just as you took a chance and speculated that he is out of work and must sell the car now and only removed it from where he keeps it...again you assume inside, to take better pictures ( which were not great shots ) I assumed that in all likely hood if he will park it in the snow it has been driven in it....
I don't think these "what's it worth" threads are as mean spirited as we sometimes make them out to be. All this "help" sometimes reads mean spirited when it's meant to be "eye opening". When we read the original post we read what "we" want into it. It turns out that each one of us sees the question and the "Corvette world" a little different. What turns out to be "bashing" the car is trying to point out to the O/P what he may not be seeing. Yes if you're looking to build a "theme" car you're looking for a canvas to create on but if you're looking for a "driver" it would be very helpfull to know what the "must haves" and the "like to haves" are. Knowing the budget would be helpfull also. For the most part this is not the equeal to a "custom bashing"
which is a whole different discusion not for here.

All your points are great, especially the need to know what does the buyer want and entend to do with said car.
going only by what I have personally seen,
100% of the cars I posted were dissed and trashed,
I actually am willing to be called out on this one and hope I am but I do not recall selling any "what's it worth" type threads for a car less than 10-12K that wasn't trashed.
You are very correct that this type thread has nothing to do with the endless bashing of modded/customs which I still believe is more of a "lemming syndrome" in public because of all the private messages and emails I receive telling me they like modded and customs.
I do see that most replies to such a post assume the buyers wants a NCRS show car for investment which is in most cases not the case.
There is a new thread and member looking for a vette and seems that would be a great place for some people to show him some possibilities....

Most do not think carefully about "what really floats your boat".
Good friend did a super job NCRS resto and now has a trailer queen, used to drive the car to movies, ect. If this is what you want, and you have "deep enough wallet to pay uber toad pelts", then super. If you want to burn up gas, then something else might be better. All of it is good and all Corvettes in any fashion are simply great and are meant to be enjoyed!
