After all the rain and floods we had last week, finally was able to get the vette out for some fun. I asked my 19 year old son if he wanted to take me for a drive. He's not much of a car guy and I was a little surprised when he said yes. We drove down some windy country roads and guess what was in front of us . . . another C3. What are to odds of that?!!! We saw quite a few other classics/hotrods doing the same thing. After a while, we swapped seats and had a short but spirited drive. My son was smiling ear to ear by the time we reached home. I may make a car guy out of him yet. Good times . . .
Here is a pic of my latest project -- fiberglass repair and repaint of underside of hood.
It's just as much fun with your 4 year-old grandson [wearing his favorite "Lightning McQueen" hat and Jeff Gordon sunglasses] strapped in his booster seat in the C3. The smiles on their faces are priceless!!! (I know my cheeks hurt when I got back...)
P.S. I did have to explain to him that he couldn't drive because he didn't have a driver's license...yet.
It must be a boy thing, my 13 year old Daughter says she is embarrassed to be seen in the Vette, and my 10 year old son loves it when I drop him off at the school bus stop in it. He cant even see over the dash board, but he loves going for rides. He has already asked if he can have the car when I die.
Can't beat that! I promised my 16 year old son that when he passes his road test and gets his license, his first drive will be in the vette. (gulp!)
I still have to teach him how to drive a manual trans with my DD.

Would have enjoyed a picture of your son behind the wheel. Very nice looking car. I let my son drive my vette on occasion. Want to see him enjoy it since it will be totally his some day.
I remember going for drives and to car shows with my dad in his '50 Chevy and '60 Lincoln. The memories are one of the few reasons I'd want a son....well, a child of either gender, lol.
