Its been in the shop for a little over a year and finally laid down some fathom green paint today. Cant wait to get it in the garage in a few weeks, then the real fun starts
In the paint shop for a year??? What were they doing? Aging the fiberglass? I guess you didn't put a completion date or penalty clause requirement in the contract.
Glad you're about to get it back and hope it was worth the wait.
Hi DJ,
Great pictures!
I'll bet you're really excited.
I'm a firm believer in having body work sit for MONTHS before painting. (Think... luggage rack holes).
My 71 went off in June and came home in April.
Now you're in for some big fun!
Regards,
Alan
he sprayed the door jambs first then set the doors with new hinges. didnt want to mess with the hinges and getting gaps correct with painted doors. the gaps on this car are the best that i have ever seen well worth the wait. i'll post pics as progress goes on
Looks great!! I'm going to jam mine and paint with the doors on as well. It is going to be a metalic paint, and my painter is worried about the flake not looking good if it is done disassembled. By the way, what kind of paint did you use on yours?
