I am having trouble with Heater/AC blower flap. Everything comes out on the floor, does anyone one know which vacuum part or parts control this ? I think it comes off of a line attached to the Heater AC controls but I don't know where it goes-any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi n2,
Great to have you here!
It would help if you filled out your profile AND included in your post what year car you're working on.
I'm sure you'll get some replies.
Regards,
Alan
Many of the corvette parts sites include detailed drawings showing parts and their functions - a good place to start. Look for the vacuum diagrams for heating and ac.

Correct. Diverter door opens and closes by vacuum. You might find a 1/8th OD tube dangling around in that area. If you're lucky, you might be able to hear the hiss of a vacuum leak and narrow down the search.
Your best bet is to purchase the assembly instruction manual (AIM) for your year and trace the color coding for the tube.
Thanks for replying so fast! The year is 1980, I found a Vacuum diagram off of a site at Wilcox. The culprit appears to be the one with the green stripe. What I was wondering if I have to take the top of the console out to get to it or if someone knew specifically which one regulated the vacuum for that particular operation. I believe there are 3. Thanks again.

On the drivers side under the hood there is a three way vacuum connection towards the firewall. One is a very small line, that one goes to the vacuum control on the air doors.
Thanks for the tip I'll try it tommorrow-you people are so kind-I sold my Motorcycle and was going to buy and old car but for the money I thought what the heck I'll buy a Corvette. I will get photos on as soon as I figure out how-no I am not auditioning for a Geico Commercial-So Easy a Cave Man could do it. Thanks Again Everyone have a good evening.
it is like spaghetti under your console and behind your gauges.. and equally a nightmare trying to read the AIM.
your heater controller will control where vacumm is sent to which flapper vacumm diaphram.
test the diaphrams manually to make sure they are not binding, then run a vacumm source to each one to confirm that the diaphrams are not broke..
if all is well at this point then your problem is probably in old vacumm lines, disconnected vacumm lines, or your heater control itself.
they guy who 'restored' my car did not bother to hook this all up on mine. I took apart all the dash and console and got it all working, as a result I learned it all backwards and forwards. I even got the 'astro ventilation' to work..
Of course mine is a 70 and may not be the nightmare your 80 is..
...What I was wondering if I have to take the top of the console out to get to it...
Possibly not. It depends on which end of the hose is loose. Before diving under there, remove the console side panels and take a look see.

I do not know the color codes of the lines off the top of my head, but they are in the AIM.
First line goes to the vacuum servo on the diverter door and allows you change from defrost to cabin air. This one is to the right of the accelerator pedal and you can probably see it.
Second runs behind the passenger's side dash and connects to the vacuum servo on the fresh air door in the passenger's footwell behind the kick panel. This door closes for AC and opens for fresh air.
Third routes behind the center cluster, out the firewall, and to the flapper door on the right side of the wiper trough. This door closes for AC and opens for fresh air.
If a vacuum line is off any of these three servos, you should be able to see it.
