No, the nose of the car has a angle to it, the gas tank is flat.

I ordered a nose emblem for my '69 and I think I got a fuel cap emblem though the packaging said it was correct. It was flat and the posts were about 1/8" too narrow. I got it to fit without cracking the glass, but had I done it again, it would have been sent back and ordered from another company.

Well, just go to the catalog with the parts in it and see if your year has different emblem part numbers for gas and nose emblems....or not. To my knowledge, they are ALL different between nose and gas lid for any specific year (except 1974...which didn't have a gas lid emblem).

The different parts suppliers list different parts, if that helps...

Do fuel door emblems not have threaded studs with cap nuts and nose emblems have smooth studs and use press on retainers?
