Default Is it "Low T" or what?

Some of you are aware I bought my pace car several years back and worked on it devotedly for a couple of years until I deployed again. Got back this past December and couldnt bring myself to start on it again and the end was in sight. Before I deployed I had rebuilt the drivetrain and rear suspension (to include repainting the frame, etc) all new exhaust and interior. The only things I have left to do is paint and rebuild the front end. All of the parts have been bought and sitting on the shelf but I cant bring myself to tearing it down. Dont know why, guess I am tired of working on it, hopefully that feeling will pass soon. I rebuilt my IROC in the meanwhile and bought an LT4 C4 to cruise in until I get around to working on it again. I still sit in my shop at night with a cold beer and squint my eyes at it until I can see what it can be(), but for some reason I am scared to put the sander on it because then I am committed. I think its writer's block or I am afraid of commitment.....

I know its not laziness because I sold my new truck and bought an old 4x4 beater that I am 3/4 through with completely rebuilding. Loving working on it and the other toys.....

Anybody else do a frame off that ran into this? Where's the magic pills?

No way I would ever sell it, I love this vette too much. Just wondering anyone else that did a frame off start feeling this.... Maybe its time to push on through to completion and no more "while I am it" moments!

But it did spend its first night outdoors the other night while I worked on another project. (cheater too?)
ok, just venting or ranting or wondering out loud..... Hope you guys dont run into this during your restorations!

You just need some more "down time"...and you deserve it. Wait it out. It will pass and you will get the 'bug' again. Don't rush it.

Just take some time away from it. I would almost bet that next spring when the 'vettes start coming out from winter storage you will get the bug again. You will want to be in your 'vette... problem is... if you don't finish it now, it will still be sitting in the garage this spring. Decisions Decisions.

Hi,
IROC, LT4, 4x4.... it sounds like your attention has been spread around a good bit.
Lot's of people who have long restoration time frames go through 'can't touch it periods'.
You'll get to a time when either you'll be able to start again, or there will be an ad that starts "must sell, lost interest". There's nothing wrong with that.
Regards,
Alan

I spent nearly 4 years out in the shed every night; or online chasing parts to rebuild a 1974 Triumph TR5T motorcycle from a bare frame. I gave that bike the very best effort I have and it's beautiful! After a brief shakedown period I ran it a bit hard, and damaged some engine internals.... I can't force myself to take it apart again so it has sat for 2 years in the shop. I take it out and wash/polish it twice a year so the finishes stay nice.... I hope sometime I get the determination to repair my stupidity. I"ll never sell it, but at this rate I might have to will it to a nephew.... anyway, you're not alone, and you shouldn't feel guilty. It will work itself out in time.

Give yourself a break! It will be there when you are ready. If you force it - it looses is fun appeal. I have to have several different projects going - I cannot concentrate on one for too long. I did that with my 69, got burned out on it and it sat for several years.

Its all for fun - take your time and enjoy the ride!
