I also ordered a MaxJax last week With that in mind, as I was removing the #3 bolt in front of the rear wheel, I noticed the trailing arm bushings are split just like every other piece of rubber on the car. Since I have the lift coming and the motor and trans are already out, what a great time to pull the body off to sandblast the frame, paint it and replace the brake and fuel lines
I think my plans of driving it in April just may have gotten pushed back a little while
I just thought I'd mention it.
See people buy brand new tires and do brakes first and the another 3 years or longer before the car hits the road. Not best for the tires or seals.
Went to the freight company today after work and picked up my MaxJax
I thought it would be a bigger package but it was fairly compact. Got home after dark and took it apart piece by piece so I could get it off the truck. Freight ticket said 880lbs. I knew the posts would be the heaviest but I unloaded them myself. I knew all that working out would come into play someday
I will be renting the drill Saturday getting it installed. Hopefully no issues with the concrete. I plan to throw some epoxy in then hole during the install.
Pics after the install
(1 Jan 2011) I understand that but this WILL be on the road this year. It's not going to be a several year project. The new tires will be the last thing on my list
BWAHAHAHAHA...still in pieces

Got the car loaded on the trailer Sunday and made my way home from Illinois Monday morning. The original bumpers were crumbling and falling off faster than I could drive my 900 miles home. Every stop I was pulling off loose pieces so they didn't fall off onto the highway or someone behind me. I think I lost half of the front and 20% of the rear bumper.
The other news was it is not a L-82. Not sure why I was thinking it was. definitely the L-48 version. Not real concerned since I didn't get it to restore or sell later. That just clears my conscience do build a different motor for it :-p
The rest of the car was in good shape minus the 2 mouse skeletons I found.
Have to hit the car wash before I unload it and get busy getting it ready to test drive
I'd add Sea Foam to the tank with fresh high octane fuel. Worked for me.
Do the oil & filter pretty quick. Trans & rear end as soon as practical. Cheap insurance.
Max Jax was installed right away and my twin turbo Malibu went right on it.
I collected many parts so far for the Vette and will be getting to work on it soon. Engine was trashed. Have a new 425 hp SBC and an OD trans ready to go. It has a 4:10 gear rear so I wanted OD so I can drive it and get a little better mileage.
