Well, I don't like the car. But, it is fabricated well; and I have to give the designer a lot of credit on the engineering of that top. He used the convertible hinges to connect the top so it would lift for interior access and then pull down to lock...clever idea. If the top actually seals out water, it would be an improvement on the sealing capability of the stock car!!

Not all that inspiring or original....when I had my 72convertible 25 years ago it was common to bolt the top down to the deck and then show the car with top and deck open like this car does....a prop rod was used to hold it up as it is very heavy
I don't recall using the terms "inspiring" or "original", Bats. But, whatever... Just another instance of you starting a thread on an 'open' forum venue, only to bias other's contributions with your acrid assessment of their thoughts. [nothing new here]
You are correct you didn't use "inspiring" or "original", you are being way hypersesitive you gave the designer a lot of credit with engineering the top which I just don't see....they glassed a top in...nothing epic....like you said this is an open forum and I forget you like to be the only one who can be "open"
I like a lot of it there are things i would change but then look what I drive. It is a custom from way back in the day so I kind of like that stuff.
Everytime I see your sweet car I miss my 66...it was a grand sport meets a mako 1 type early custom....I wanted to put this ecklers tilt c3 front end on it...
with all the stuff going on with this car, is it strange that the one thing that really "tripped" me up is the chrome plate around just one of the gauges in the bezel?
Also, $10k for a 427 with a blower isn't so bad if it runs well.
