Yes, replating is a possibility.
I suggest you call Librandi in Middletown, Pa. (near Harrisburg).
They do beautiful work; not cheap, but reasonable.

Your 1970 front grill piece is an aluminum alloy. There are not many chrome shops that can replate aluminum. My chrome plater did strip my left and right grill pieces for my 1970. He did it electrolytically. He then polished the aluminum to a bright surface appearance. He did not have the capability to chrome plate aluminum.
To chrome plate aluminum, a electrically conductive anodize coating is applied. Then the traditional nickel and chrome plating functions can be followed. The key is the electrically conductive anodize coating. Normal anodize coatings are not electrically conductive. Your plater must know how to do the conductive anodize coating.
