That looks great. You need new rubber on your pedals now.

Thank you for reminding me, I called Willcox today for seat belt stops and meant to get the pedal pads. Old ages is really catching up with me.

I am not sure if it was offered, after getting all the carpet installed, looking clean I decided to install an LED stip mounted it on the cieling of the compartment. Which left the back with cleaner open look. I did the same in the cocpit, took out the bulbs and replaced them with the LED strips.

Another good idea. I assume they are brighter too. What strips are you using?

My 72 with deluxe interior has a light. Might be a deluxe interior thing.

Carpet looks great.

Hi n2v,
Your work looks VERY nice!
I believe the rear bulkhead light was still standard in the 72 model.
Which vendor did you buy the carpet from... it looks great?
Regards,
Alan

Yes, the interior is briter specially with the blue carpet.

I am headed to Autozone tomorrow to pick some nuts and bolts to replace some rusted ones, I'll take note of the vendors name and the model and post it. Thank you for kind words.

Alan,

I got my carpet from Willox, Tommy and Norm, sorry if I mis-spelled your name. but those guys are great when getting the parts to me. Another plug for them, I ordered the foam and covers for the seats last Tuesday that Friday they arrived. Now I need to clear up my bench so I can re-build the seat with the new material.

On the pedal pads on order. Have a Motorcycle Rally this week end so the vette project will wait till next week end.

Nice work! Are those original bright blue vinyl seat covers you're going to replace? If so - wanna sell 'em?

I'm trying to find some originals to go with the rest of the original (and somewhat worn) rest of the interior....

If your interest is just the seat cover, you can have them. If it is on the whole seat, I am replacing the foam and the cover on them, of course keeping the frame to do that.

Those do not appear to be "Bright Blue" covers. I believe they were identified as Dark Blue for 1971 and 1972. And, if they are NOT Bright Blue and 66L36Coupe can not use them, I would like to get them for a project I have in mind. I'll be glad to pay for "shipping and handling".

Yeah - seat covers only. Thanks for the offer. But they need to be bright blue, code 411 - they look it in the pics, but I also know they had darker blue with no metalic look. What is the color code on your trim tag?

Coups had them. I don't believe there was an overhead dome light until late 76.

I am not sure on the code, but when I ordered the new foam and covers from Willcox Tommy had mentioned they were the Dark Blue.

Okay here's the vendor and the LED light I used. I would like to first say that I am not affiliated with this company, I just happen to run into the product at Autozone and wanted to try them, because I wanted brighter light in the car. I have something similar in my 85 300SD but longer. They really brighten up the back and cocpit.

I put the two stip inline together, they have the 3M double tape that stick to anything. After I installed the back part of the carpet I did not want to spoil the clean look. Besides these light mounted on the ceiling of the cargo area you don't see them.

The GM interior color code for the '71 blue interior is 412. And my interior color looks to be the same as the one in the photos ('72). I had a '68 with the "bright blue" interior and it was significantly lighter and had much more of a metallic sheen to it.
