Hard Top question
I have a hard top that I bought to put on my '72 and am getting ready to paint.
Were hardtops painted the same color as the car or were they like convertible tops and only available in a couple of colors?

They were painted the color of the car or were covered in vinal. Not sure if vinal was an option in '72 tho.

Body color, although they did not travel with the car on the assembly line. The optional vinyl cover was black only. Interior panels match the interior color of the car.

Vinyl is definitely out.
Car is painted a Targa Blue with a metal flake. Think I'll do the same with the hardtop.
Some day after I win the Powerball I'll repaint the body - still the same color w/ the metal flake - just without the little defects that drive me nuts.
Thanks
Mike
