I would be afraid the loudness of the base would loosen it. I may try it, but add some kind of L shape bracket. Thanks..........

Good point, something I didn't think of but then again I halfway expected them to fall off but it's been well over a year. In fact if I wanted to remove them I'm not sure how I could without harming the fiberglass and paint on the outside. Maybe a wire acting as a saw the same as removing a windshield might work. Then again there only 6x9 speakers with some bass but not so much and I rarely listen to the stereo anyway, that's what big cams are for , however when the wife is riding and asks " can we turn on the radio" I use it then

While I don't think the originator of this thread meant for it to be a photo gallery, it seems to have turned into one.....

Either way there are some great looking transformations under hood going on here. So I guess I'll join in too...My before shot is a LS6 motor that was taken from a '71 Chevelle which was installed when I purchaesed my'70 vert 5 years ago now. The After photo is with the new motor which is a 555 cu in Dart block with Brodix aluminum heads, and of course a few other tricks up her sleeve.

Scoggin Dickey 454 HO short block, forged pistons, rods, crank
ZZ502 cam installed by them, degreed straight up
ZZ502 heads, port matched to edelbrock RPM air Gap, 1.25 intakes
Crane magnum roller rockers
Quickfuel 750 with mechanical secondaries
hooker super comps (which were a BIAAATCH to fit )
3" exhaust with 3" flowmasters

Should be an easy 550HP/550TQ at the crank

Will probably toss a 150 or 200 shot of squeeze on top, am also considering a Weiand 174 miniblower after the shake down runs are done instead of N2O, but am ready to be driving it too, so don't know if I'll tear into the top end for that or not
