So I go to Best buy looking for a new deck, bluetooth & HD, nope, one or the other, is what I find, unless I want to buy an adapter, that BB does not sell.
Anyway, I come out of the store, & I purposely parked at the end of the lot so no one parks next to my one week old paint & check out what I see:
Reminds me of a funny story.......several years ago, a friend of mine had just gotten his '69 Boss 302 painted. Went to Sears for some reason, parked very much like you did. Came back out, and saw a pickup truck parked just like that black car next to your 'vette. Upon closer inspection, he noticed that the pickup truck owner had opened his door into my friend's Mustang, hard enough to scratch the paint deeply and leave a just barely noticable dent. Paint job less than a week old! He walked back into Sears, bought a ball peen hammer, and smashed the headlights, tailights and turn signals on the truck, got in his car and drove away. True story.
Hmmm, maybe you got their spot. I always, did I say always park diagonal in two spots in the back areas because really, some people don't care. (nice color btw) Ed

You might have to re-think that idea in NYC. If you take up 2 spots with the parking situation being what it is you probably won't find your car in the same condition as when you left it.
The owner of the Benz parked next to you because he thought his car would be safe also.
Your first mistake was taking your car out at night and leaving it in a public parking lot.
Your second mistake was going to BB. (sorry, i just had to get that in) lol
I'd be more concerned about the group of people, hanging around that yellow soapbox.
I've had people ding my door at a parking lot. I also retaliated in a way I'm not proud of. I had a temper when I was younger. Let me offer this advice, ....never open your door in to a lifted 4WD with nice paint. Big heavy trucks with big tires are harder on sheet metal than your door is.
