It would be a real shame for the Hurricane to ruin the Carlisle "festivities", so everybody should stay home..........you can avoid the rain and the earthquakes that way......................
Lets hope course of the storm veres out to sea. It's pretty tough to leave your home knowing it could be in harms way to travel a couple of hundred miles inland and enjoy a Corvette show even if it is the premiere Corvette show of the year.
Living 9 houses from the beach has been great...until now. I've been preparing for a few days now and will be heading out today. Sat/Sun I will be staying with a friend in PA (just like the license plate used to say). What I'll be looking at on Monday is anybody's guess.
According to the weather channel, Carlisle has probably already had rain coming in from the west. They are likely to get something from Irene when she shows up.
Hi,
STILL a nice day at Carlisle when I left about 2:30.
I'm still hopeful about at least part of tomorrow!
A lot of people (venders and customers) were talking about leaving mid-afternoon.
Regards,
Alan
Unfortunately I had to leave Carlisle Sat night. Got home about 1 am. Biatch Irene is headed right for me in Massapequa Park . Just finished getting everything off the floor in the garage, putting the Vette up on jack stands, and taping the big window in the kitchen. Heading to the basement to do the same, then I need to move the Mustang to higher ground.
Please go to Pa, as long asi it is not DE We have enough of youse here.
Every summer we have to put up with...err...I mean...have the pleasure of...yea that's it....have the pleasure of dealing with thousands and thoudands of tourist (most from PA).
I went to Carlisle yesterday as a show of good faith and to return the favor. Have to admit though, very beautiful country. Can't figure out why they'd want to come here.
