Numbers location & retrieval

This will be the 3rd day I'll be going at it, running out of patience. If can't get it, I guess I'll have to remove that third (middle) bracket. Might look for a smaller ratchet set since the one I have does not fit in that tight space very well.

Let me get this straight....I can remove the 2 screws holding the actuator in place, I think I may also be able to remove the other 2 screws (circled in the pic below) without disconnecting the rod. If I can get those out, will the bracket come loose? OR do I absolutely HAVE TO disconnect the adjusting rod?

Yes, if you remove the nuts from the bracket and the two nuts on either end, that will release the linkage from the firewall. You'll still need to disconnect the actuator if you plan to lift the linkage out of there. Disconnecting the actuator is no big deal, just loosen the jam nut and keep turning the sleeve until on end comes off. Reverse the procedure to reinstall. If you keep your jam nut in relatively the same position you'll have a reference as to how far to turn when reinstalling. If not, still not a big deal. The adjustment is pretty easy.

This experience has taught me something....ONLY remove the wiper door if you absolutely have to!
