Hey guys,
I'm looking to get new sidepipe covers, I have looked around and haven't been able to find any good deals, besides Midamerica magazine (which is amazing). But it seems you can only by them unpainted, I'm looking to make them chrome. So does anyone know where to buy them already chromed, or do I have to do this myself?
And what about a luggage rack?
Thanks all!!!! Side covers like these:
Wilcox, and Dean's sheilds are great, but it looks like he has some aftermarket fiberglass covers on the car.If this is the case, try ACI,or Corvette America, but I'm not sure if they have them available in chrome.
I bought another 69 awhile back, and would love to have the original style covers, and mad @ myself for the one's I've sold over the years, but can't swing the 2 k....They sure makes the car look awesome tho....Dear Santa.......good luck,bud...

You are correct, theyre fiberglass, I'd be looking for the same fiberglass ones, because of funds! haha although the original covers would be nice! thanks for the info, I still can't believe the price of even the fiberglass ones
Hi76,
If you really want to feel sick abut the high price.... the N14 option price in 69 was $147.45!
I bought a set of pipes, covers, and mounting hardware over the counter for between $200 an $300 in 1971!
They're expensive but sure do look terrific.
Regards,
Alan

Alan..
I love them.. my favorite option..
Kuhlman Tool and Die made these for GM... they went out of business in the late 80's.. noted by the KD in a circle on all their parts. They were from Oak City, Ok... They made the big block hood inserts for the 70-72 cars, the big block inserts for the 1965-66, the lower dash molding for the 58-62 cars and so on..
Sad part is that we tried to get these from them but a certain vendor beat me to it.
Other sad part. the covers were only around 100.00 bucks a side then and they had plenty.. I didn't buy.
Other sad part... last set of NOS covers I sold fetched a whopping 1000.00 and I thought I'd hit it rich. You never know do you..

Hi Willcox,
The winter I drove the car with the side exhaust, the covers were pitted within a month or two. Maryland used a combination of salt and sand back then. I took them back to the dealer.... they GAVE me 2 sets.... and said not to bother coming back.... EVER.

Alan
