I was about 15 years old when I saw the movie and over the years the more I see the movie the more I wish more had been done with better taste to the car, then I stopped and realized. This was the mid 70s. This car this movie was the beginning of the custom vetts craze. Until that point there was only vetts with side pipes, bb hoods, an earlier grandsport but nothing this radical except a mako shark but that was done tastefully.
Look at todays mods and manufactures, custom exhaust, custom wheels, custom hoods, wings, tunnel rams, ground effects, tiger shark, calloway, mallet, greenwood, lighenfelter, custom interiors, hid and led lightning, widebody kits, tinted glass, stripe packages from pace cars to ZHZ, zr1, zo6, grandsport, and now the new 60th anniversay car. We should all be pround that most of us have lived and saw this transformation from likable poor taste to all the options and customs we have today. Just imagine if there was not one custom vett what would a 69 camaro look like....humm I know bad hair day huh.
Anyhow I personally think the movie was the start of something but I am glad todays direction is much more in the right direction. Imagine a re creation of Corvette Summer. A geek kid with a computer buying parts off the intenet and transforming a c6 into a Corvette Summer. Humm I bet most of us would hate but that younger gemeration would love and the name of the movie,,Fast n Serious.

When I see the corvette in Corvette Summer I think...they did a lot of drugs back then and Mark Hammil's acting career took a Joe versus the Volcano/ Ishtar move.
