Yeah, You caught me, been slackin on posting updates. Ive done alot to the vette in the past couple of months. I scored a new rear floor already made from Jeff at Heartland customs. It formed a major portion of the rear and I added on to it in several places to completely fill up the package tray/wheel tub area. Once I had all the pieces, I bonded the entire piece in with 3M panel bonding adhesive, then glassed both sides of the seam with 2 layers of mat. I did have to make some fiberglass blisters in the tubs to clear the convertible top bows. Body is now noticeably stronger and stiffer. I also made a one off fiberglass cover for the transmission tunnel to cover up the T56. I also treated the entire underside to a coat of lizard skin and a coat of Raptor liner. Once that was done, I lowered the body onto the frame and made sure everything fit before bolting it down. I used the newer style rubber body mounts as I needed a bit more lift to clear the supercharger on the LSA. Its now been loaded onto a trailer and sent off to paint prison for a few months(hopefully). Cant wait to get it back and resume putting it back together. Color will be Porsche midnight blue.

Also rebuilt the doors with all new hardware, plus installed power regulators(converting from manual). Installed the new Tilt/Tele column I got off of ebay and put a later model thicker steering wheel.

Evan Q.

Rogman, Glad to see you workin on your 73 again.

Cwerner, Its a later model steering wheel from Eckler's. I think its for like 76-up. It was a direct bolt in and works well with the Tilt/Tele. Nice and simple.

Steve-0. Thanks bud! When you gonna start workin on yours? Need to put those Oldsmobiles up and start working on a real classic!

Rog, Thanks, I do love workin at the shop. My wife is always wondering when if ever Im gonna come home. Those wheels and tires are off of my Zo6. I plan on putting some Forgelines with the same size tires.

Evan, going to be working on my '70 this spring. It is getting an L-88 long hood, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, 650 Holley DP, MSD ignition, either Hooker Comp headers and a Pypes system or headers and side pipes, and a new clutch. Also putting on a set of Boss 338 18" wheels. I should have it road trip ready early spring. Yes, putting up the Oldsmobiles to work on the Vette for a while.

that is an awesome build! I hope you kept the plane, ... that is also very cool. Not quite a 190.... but in today's terms way ahead of most of the rest!

Well the Vette has finally been paroled from paint prison. I gotta say that Rick Byrd at Custom Auto Refinishing did a spectacular job on it. He did it in a reasonable time and on budget. Its very straight and smooth. No small feat on an old fiberglass body. I celebrated by installing a new nose emblem and have now re-installed the rear bumpers and the license plate surround. Got lots of stuff to install now. Color is 2012 Porsche midnight blue. Here are some pics
