Can't say what I really want, but that crap is tight!!! What a look... You are getting her put back together very nicely!!! Keep the pics coming... That "blue" is killer... Betcha it is a sight in the sun...
Rog, It looks almost black in the shop. Once out in the sun it really comes alive. Finish wiring up the back half tomorrow then on to putting the front end back together. Thinking about doing the LED halos in front like 7t2vette did also. Here's a link to the thread:
Been pluggin away at finishing the vette. Plumbing up the intercooler heat exchanger was first. Mounted the pump to the drivers inner fender and had to fab up a resevoir as the included plastic one didnt work out. I got a Canton racing resevoir from summit and chopped 2" off the bottom to make it fit where I wanted, up by the intercooler hat and easily accessible. I also fabbed up a fiberglass plate to hold the LSA fuse box and ECM between the pass. fender and firewall above the optima battery mount. The LSA is all wired up and plumbed now, just gotta finish the exhaust and fill up all the fluids before starting. Im installing Dakota's new VHX system also and have done some preliminary wiring along with all the stock dash wiring. I made the intake tube from 4" stainless sections welded up. The tube goes from the throttle body, curves rearward, under the MC and then goes to the gills on the driver's side to get some cooler air. Not much room in front of the core support. Once done, I took the tube to get it ceramic coated. Looks kinda cool I think. Switched to a Jones racing PS pump with large reservoir and 2 return fittings as I am using Hydra tech brakes. The Jones pump fit perfect and the intake tube curves right around it. Here are a few pics:
The exhaust has been a challenge to fit so far. Doing it in 3" stainless pre bent sections welded up. Once done Ill get it coated like the intake tube. Since I have room, Im going up and over the diff to create some ground clearance. Dont want to be hearing any scraping with this baby.
Great looking car!!! I really enjoy watching your progress. I didn't see your comments on the electric light conversion you did. Did you put together your own actuator mechanisms and brackets, or did you buy the conversion kit from ECPB?
I used the electric conversion kit from Eckler's . It installed easily and works great. I did the wiper door conversion also. I will post some pics of it this week.
Im planning on using Forgeline MD3P with brushed centers and polished outers. They will be the same sizes as the stock ZO6 wheels that are on there. As for tires, I havent decided yet. Thinking about using Michelin run-flats as I wont be carrying a spare.
Evan - love following your build over here as you follow mine over there. I went with Michelin Pilot Sport runflats as I won't be running with a spare either. Glad to hear the ECPB headlight motors works well.
Your work and the choices you're making are stunning, I admirer how you're not rushing the job and making sure that every thing is first class. With a car this beautiful it's sometimes hard not to rush the work so you can enjoy the car on the open roads.
This is the type of car I would love to see in person, so I could study all the neat details.
Evan, I don't know how I have not seen this thread until now! Awesome build, love it!!!
I plan to also do a modern chassis & drivetrain under my vette at some point in the future, so this thread is very inspirational!!! I love what you did with the exhaust going over the diff. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
As for the LED halo mods front & rear, I have gotten nothing but positive feedback from all who have seen them so far....they look petty cool! Glad I could inspire you!!

Havent finished wiring the back end up yet but heres a few pics with the halos fired up.
I have a Street Shop chassis and C4 suspension setup on my 1970 Corvette restomod build, too.
I'm wondering if you had to do something special in how you had Street Shop do your rear suspension, in order to get the exhaust running over the top? Or, did you have to modify the underside of the car to create room?
70, The Street shop suspension is unchanged from how they designed it, I have room to go over the Diff because i removed the package trays from the rear.
7T2 ,Thanks for the comps. I will post some more progress pics soon.
Well if anyone tells you C3 interiors are easy, they are probably smoking something funny. Id rather do fiberglass work than try to fit interior parts. Anyway, rant over, Ive made some major progress on the vert in the past month. Ive completed all the wiring and installed the Dakota Digital VHX gauge system(awesome) Ive fitted the dash pad, lower dashes, center dash, console(major PIA) and parking brake console. Ive also dynamatted the complete interior plus installed the ACC carpet. I had them do a custom job for me using Tru-vette carpet(same as in my 2006 vette). The front sections were molded for a 69 by ACC and I made the rear section myself with the same carpet material. They even made the floor mats from tru-vette with custom stingray embroidery. I made an audio plate for the rear section. I had minimal room to work in, but managed to squeeze in two 6" JL 2 way speakers, an Alpine PDX digital amp and a 8" JL sub , plus another two 6" speakers in the kick panels. the head unit is a kenwood bluetooth media player. I found some '73 rocker panels in perfect shape and installed them as the plain black fiberglass 69 ones were a little blah looking. So with the exception of the seats which im recovering this week, the interior is basically done. Should be test driving before hunting season starts.
A few more pics. The shifter bar supplied by street shop was a bit long. I cut a 1" section out of it and the shifter is now centered in the console opening. All the fiberoptics are now working also. The seats are 75 seats I got from ebay. I am converting them to have the seat belt pass thru the seats and installing new foam and Al Knoch leather covers. I also sandblasted, primed and painted the seat frames and hardware. Ive done one bottom seat after watching the install video. Not too difficult.
Rog, Im really thinking about doing a 1970 trans am next. I really like the Lucerne blue with the white stripe. Im thinkin a stock outer body with some nice 18" honeycombs and a fire breathing LS motor underneath.
Problem is I gotta find one first. They are pretty rare.
