All good thoughts - thank you. I do love them both but I'm glad to know I am not the only weirdo that thinks a TT looks better - just strictly from an appearance standpoint... although I totally agree that a top down vert looks great too. But if I had to choose based strictly on looks I'd take the TT.... I am speaking just of 68-77 C3's though. I just love the rear window lines from 68-77.
That said, the vert is no doubt a feeling that can't be beat for taking a ride!!!
Unlike some others who always prefer the TT or hardtop to a vert, I think all verts since '78 look better. I just don't like the hatchback look of the coupes as much as the FRC or Vert... not that a 78-current Vette coupe looks bad by any stretch...
If you really don't care about having a convertible, then it makes a lot more sense getting a coupe - you can get a lot nicer car for the same amount of $. Simple supply and demand, if 50% want coupes, and 50% want convertibles, and 75% of the cars are coupes, and 25% are convertibles - it's pretty easy to see how the laws of supply & demand will work.
I really don't care for the look of a convertible with the soft-top up - but with the hardtop on I think it looks pretty cool. Also,
Ditto. The look of a vert with the hard top on is my favorite and why I bought one with both tops.
Tough decision....love both of them. The sugar scoop rear window is one of the sharpest designs to come out of Detroit on the TT. You really can't beat a true convertible though! Both of my Vettes are coupes and there are times I wish I could just drop the whole top down.
Personally I love the looks of the convertible but when you add the hardtop then it really looks GREAT. Riding with the top down speaks for it's self and that may not be for some people bit I love it. JMO
My wife have three 2-seat convertibles, so I guess that tells you where I stand on the issue. The Corvette is the only one that had a coupe option (the others are a TR6 and Boxster S).
Like some others, I love the look of the top down vert. Don't care much for it up. A hard top vert would seem to be the best of both worlds, until you want to remove it on a road trip. So.... the muscular looking tt is what I own.
