Default Replacing Dash (instrument) Bezel - HELP!!

Replacing the dash (instrument) bezel in my wife's 1976 to install one that has a modern radio and CD player. The old one is not willing to come out after 2 hours of trying. Anyone ever done this and could provide help would be appreciated. I have shop and assembly manuals but they are providing little to no guidance. Thanks in advance.

Trim screws around the bezel.

Two studs beneath the bezel into the center console. AIM shows these.

Stock radio will have a support on it on the right rear corner.

Removed all the screws and nut you mentioned. Still acts like something is holding it about half way down the bezel.

Hi lt,
The passenger's side lower dash pad comes off pretty easy.
It'll allow you to get a look behind the bezel if all else fails.

Plus much easier to install new radio with panel off.

Already have that dash pad off. Will breakout the snake camera tomorrow to help see. Why is it everything on this vehice is ten times harder than it is on any other vehicle?

These cars were made to be put together and NEVER taken apart!

Hi,
It all has to do with the "density of the engineering" behind that VERY GOOD LOOKING DASH! At least that's what I tell myself when I have to get the tach out to repair.

"Density of engineering".... Is that a measure of how 'dense' the engineers that designed the C3 assembly were? I know that the durability and reliability of the operating systems in GM cars were really pretty good; but the way they were constructed made very little sense . I guess that is the "charm" of the C3's.
