Your description happens when you drill the wrong size hole.

I installed a right hand mirror. No shaking. Never needed to be tightened. Simple job.

Going to have a body shop install it? Does your mechanic change your blown fuses too?

I used the well nuts that was recommended and they worked for about 1 year....then they began to loosen. No matter how many times I took the mirror off and re-tightened the base, it would tighten temporarily and then it would began to shake when I was going down the road.

I really wanted to have a RH mirror but the only REAL way to install it, is to attach a steel plate inside the door (just like the LH mirror) then it will stay tight. But to do that, I understand, would be a real pain.

When I get the Vert painted, I'm going to have the body shop install the RH mirror with the plate.

I finally took off the RH mirror, had the 2 holes in the door filled and the door repainted. Now you can't tell there was ever a mirror there.

Never had my driver's door apart to see if there was any type of steel support behind the mirror.
Driver and passenger door mirrors install differently.

I'm well aware they install differently. That wasn't my question. I asked if there was a reinforcement plate behind the passenger door.

Instead of being an a-hole, try reading the whole thread. Your question was answered in detail several times

For the 3rd or 4th time the answer is NO. Installed with well nuts.

I don't give a damn about the well nuts which are used for ease of installation. I asked if there is a reinforcement in that area for the fiberglass and mirror support.

I've seen enough of your condescending ##### posts on a daily basis (several in this thread already) to know that your advice is useless. Maybe the 10 year old mechanic on Front Street who changes your fuses would know?

How many times and in how many different ways do you have to have your question answered NO before you finally understand?

40 years ago, dealers installed the right hand mirror with 2 well nuts. Same with all the current mirrors. There is no reinforcement. NO NO NO NO NO... get it?

Driver's side has a reinforcement strip and is installed with a metal backing plate.

Not every car is a Corvair...

I am going to wait and have the body shop do it, I will ask them to add a plate to the inside of the door to re-enforce the bolts after they have the door panels and everything off. I don't have a garage or a complete tool set at the moment to be drilling holes and everything.
