Have fun traveling. Put some irish spring soap next to the wheels. Nice can't stand the smell. And for good measure, some moth ***** under the car to further encourage staying away. Also, put some dryer sheets inside the cap; it keeps the smell nice and once again, mice don't like the smell.
Just an update and to say thanks for all the kind responses. We moved out of the house on July 1 and into the motorhome. Staying in an RV park close by as we learn what we need to know, fix problems and put things away. Waiting for a driveshaft disconnect so I can quickly hook and un-hook the Yukon from the back of the coach. With 1050 lbs-ft of Cummins torque, I only know it is back there when I look in the rear camera.
We are heading to St Augustine for a few weeks on the beach with our 4 grandaughters, then slowly up to Minneapolis. We may go to Seattle, or we may head back east for the changing of the leaves in New England. Either way, I will try to keep this thread going with pictures of C3s spotted along the way.
By the way, I have recently become certified as an insurance adjuster so if a major catastrophe happens (like a hurricane) I will in all likelihood be deployed to the area and work my azz off for 60 days...or more. The money would be nice, but I would rather stay retired.
Here are a few pictures prior to leaving the house, which we rented unfurnished...the reason for two storage lockers.
When you leave S Florida, you know you're always going uphill.
I did the Minneapolis trip also pulling a car a few years ago. While you're up there, you may want to go a little further to Duluth and a little futher east along the top of Lake Superior. Lots of quaint little towns. There are some really neat rushing rivers and water falls, abandoned old mining railroads and some huge old steam locomotives on display etc. Went to Two Harbors and then up to Ely, saw about 10 deer crossing and a moose crossing the road. Lots of canoeing and fishing, pretty desolate area, lots of trees and granite.
Big culture change from down here.
Enjoy.
There are going to be some great stories from this adventure! BTW, NE is beautiful in the fall and even better the Cape isn't crowded then. Safe travels.
