Have my E Brake light staying on, when the e brake is not on. Looking at the switch, it sits about an inch from a metal tab sticking out from the E brake handle assembly, that would depress it when released.
Had to be something slide on the tab part, to be able to reach the switch and fill the inch gap?
I've looked and cannot find anything related for a diagram of this area to see what's needed.
Any help? Any knowledge of a part I'm missing?
It didn't do this before, and I cannot locate anything that may of fell into the console area.
the switch completes the circuit to ground when the metal tabs on the slide contact the small bracket that it moves through. there's a spring that's supposed to push the slide when the brake handle is released. if the slide is moving properly, check for a short.
Have the manual, don't see a switch adjustment, or any part that would fit on the tab, but will look a little closer.
I see two holes for the switch mount, but assumed one was for the bolt, the other for a indent/ recessed part, so the switch mount won't swivel
Thanks
It's as I described in previous post. So there must be adjustment of the e-brake handle? Actually the tab part is about 1/4" from making contact with the switch. And I see there may be about 3 teeth, where the e-brake handle could go further down...I guess.
I can see this as an adjustment issue. Having a few teeth on the ratchet left...but the handle is already low to the console, anymore and I'll have to notch it out to be able to get a finger under the handle
