I just recently bought a '79 and when I shut the engine off one of the headlights (passenger side) pops up. When I restart the engine it'll lower itself, and when I shut the engine off again it'll stay down. Anyone know if this is a simple enough thing to sort out?
It's a vacuum leak and almost certainly in your actuators, check all of your vacuum lines/joints and replace both actuators, not very expensive and easy to do.
Thank you both for the info, I will try that filter change first (seems much less expensive ). Does anyone have a picture of what/where that filter is?
So when I check my vacuum lines I notice mine is oriented different than any I've seen (the line coming off the PB booster). Would being oriented on its side affect anything? I am contemplating just cutting the existing hoses to make the thing sit correctly, but that metal hard line appears closer to the carb than the pictures I've seen so I don't necessarily want that thing in the way... Any advice?
