these weather sensationalists. they are calling it a 130 mph cat 4. there are a few spots behind the eye still show 74-79 mph. everything else is 25 to 50 mph. it is not even a cat 1 and they still are calling it a 4. it blew itself out on mostly empty bayou country. thank God.

This morning we are planning to meet with the kids for breakfast on the Cafe’s patio, then take a nice hike along the beach so the pups can chase the ball through the Ventura, CA. surf.
Supposed to be sunny and a mild 78 degrees today.
If I see any verts with the tops down the public, I’ll make sure to post some picks.
Stay safe you guys!
DG reports all pretty well and good. Minor roof issues. They were lucky as they were on the 'lower' wind speed side. Things are still intermittent, so I don't know when he'll be able to make an appearance.

Thanks Everyone for keeping an EYE on me. Here are some random pics of the rural area around my house, the Interstate, gas station traffic lines, DOT Staging area, Etc.
What I call amazing is the fact that there are many 220 year old Live Oaks Trees with huge limbs that grow 60 feet or longer in my area. Only one of them was destroyed...it appeared as though a giant weight was placed on top of it splitting the main brances into 5 sperate pieces.....THAT Tree has probably survived 30 hurricanes in it's life span (couldn't get a pic at 50 mph in storm traffic). It was the 30-80 year old trees that were destroyed.

First of all door gunner, we all are thankful that Ida had a minimal impact on your abode. We are in Charleston, SC and I happened to take this photo yesterday of the colonnade of live oaks, once part of the Fairbanks Plantation on Daniel Island. It is truly amazing how many of these trees have withstood the ravages of hurricanes. Our prayers go out to all those impacted in LA and throughout the northeast. The only person that this storm protected was switching the news cycle away from Biden and his Afghan exit fiasco.
The Internet has been off AGAIN for 20 hours...it just started working.

Those would be the trees...add another 3 ft. to the diameter and 20 ft. to the branch lengths for Louisiana.

Paul
I was worried about a tornado taking the garage but only some siding is missing on the front area.

Good thing about dynamite and Reflectix...lay them on a sunny driveway and they are like new in 6 hours.
