I haven't touched mine either, doorgunner. Hopefully we'll get back at it in the not too distant future. Middle of October mine goes into storage again for the winter, precious little has been done this year.

theres a joke in there somewhere but I was told not to go there...Anyway, I have a few parts stacking up to put on mine but my new jobs hours get me home late and tired. But with Bidens new vaccine rules I may be out of work soon anyway which will give me plenty of vette time but no money to do anything.....
At least the climate here in Australia allows us to work on the Vette all year round but motivation, interruptions, virus lockdowns etc make the decision to do so not always simple or easy.

Drive car or fix car? It's a simple binary decision. And it's easy. Just drive!
RATS! Between the PTSD and the cleanup from the last hurricane the car hasn't been touched....
patted a few times every week................., but not touched

You're doing great. You'll be able to drive yours with it's original front clip. Me-not so much.

We hope you are safe from all those fires we've been hearing about.

Patting counts as touching. I even count going out and looking at it, especially in the winter! You will get there Tony, and you are still MILES head of me!

You are closing in on my project fast!

Just Great! Now I find out I have.............................. PTSD/WEDTWWD
Just when you thought it was safe to go out, you discover there is something else out to get you!
WELL D.D. .....you win the scariest reply of the month award. i remembered two more events that happened 48-49 years ago since I last replied. Things that are so violent and happened so fast I find it unbelievable that my helicopter crew survived.
Any how.....it just another delay in getting my act together....we all know how a lack of concentration is not a good thing when working on our project cars.
I am talking myself into adding another layer of insulation to the floorboards and tunnel to get back in the groove (where any goof-ups will be hidden)....then reinstalling the carpet on the partition behind the seats and carpet on the floorboards.........I HOPE>

Sounds like a good plan Tony - go out there and accomplish something, (or come work on mine!) where no one will see, notice, or care, and it may get the ball rolling again! your sloppy seconds would look great on my car!

Just great! Midnight and now I'm starving.....I'll have TWO. please.....................
Just set it on the intake when you get to the park....it'll be HOT by the time you put the ice chest on the picnic table.

I just realized I can't install my shifter console until I fabricate the small section of the tunnel where the Automatic shifter originally bolts to. The previous owner installed a huge Hurst shifter which required removing a small section of the tunnel so the shifter would sit low enough to install the console/shifter plate/etc.
Right now there is a 1.5" depression with a flat fiberglass bottom that the Hurst shifter is bolted to.
I would rather NOT guess at the shape of the missing 8" long by 6" wide tunnel section since it needs to be duplicated fairly closely to make the original A/T shifter sit at the right heigth.
Does anyone have afew pictures handyof the shifter console removed so I can duplicate a new section of tunnel for the ORIGINAL A/T shifter mechanism to bolt onto?
Thanks
Hurst-Ratchet-"Hatchet " shifter mounted in console.....GM shifter on right side will be installed
The Google pic below is fuzzy...it appears that the tunnel is "smooth" where the A/T shifter mechanism bolts (except for the cover plate that is missing)?
Basically....I fiberglass over the oversize hole that is cut into the tunnel now....then cut the correct size hole for the A/T GM shifter?????????
