I did a little more on the trough repair;;;; scuffed the first cured layer of fiberglass while it is still atached to the metal mold........
marked cuts for 4 more layers of fiberglass....
finished removing original damaged trough from passenger fender......
sanding is needed to smooth out area where new trough will be bonded to the fender......
I added the cut layers (4 pcs.) onto the mold. The fiberglass should be as thick as the original trough once it cures by tomorrow
(I added a few extra drops of hardener to the resin of each additional layer
to help them cure faster).

Don't put in too much hardner, use a couple of heat lamps to help the cure.
I forgot how many drops of clear hardener per oz.? Aparrotly' I didn't put too much because the pirce wasn't fully hardened after 12 hours. It was dry but not cured.
Now to sand down the cured fiberglass until it is about 90% flat, remove it from the mold in a couple hours and test-fit/trim it to the fender edge.
IF it's a success I'll fab a 12" long piece for the driver's side trough that had to be removed because of damage and being soften with spilled brake fluid over the decades.
****Google said 14 drops per oz. of hardener on a 60% humid day/adjust drops if humidity is higher-lower.

I would mix a batch in the morning when it was in the 70’s in the garage and I had plenty of time to work with it.
I would mix another batch in the afternoon when the garage temperature was in the 90’s and I had to move quick or it would start to harden before I knew it.
Crazy!

Yep...that's why I googled the ratio. Now I remember adjusting the ratio for cold/hot/rainy/sunny days!
The resin cured BLACK after it soaked all the color out of the Blue Painter's Tape...good thing the car is Black..
The non-stick cloth will solve the color bleed/rough-finish problems.
I've been trying to visit the Forum every few days to keep interest...we will be honoring my son's birthday tomorrow with flowers.
Maybe I can bounce back for a few days until his Memorial day arrives in 3 weeks
