As I said before, I got lots of parts, some brand new, with this car. One part was a new power steering pump.
It doesn't seem to fit.
Does this pump look like any of yours out there? The axle's neck it too long for the way I think it mounts (which I may be doing wrong), as the pulley wouldn't clear the car's frame even if it would be able to mount up.
For my '77 that pump is not even close. The pulley is more inline with the yellow arrow in your pic.. The pulley could hit the frame if the belt was too long. Trying to find a pic. of mine. mike...
I hope that someone didn't press directly on the pulley to get it on the pump driveshaft. And yes, the pulley is backwards on the pump shaft.
Now the really bad news:
You must use a special tool to thread into the end of the driveshaft and draw the pulley onto the shaft. Pressing directly on the pulley and reacting against the pump housing will most likely break parts inside the pump.
