Someone may have posted this before though I didn't get a hit when I did a search.
I was looking for some articles Lars had posted, did a search on the internet. Came up with his name on Wikipedia. He seems to have become a celebrity...
From: At my Bar drinking and wrenching in Lafayette Colorado
The Wiki listing appeared shortly after a correspondent for the New York Times attended the 2006 Detroit "Tuning for Beer World Tour" Corvette Seminar Series. The Times published a full-page article in their Auto section a few months later, and the extract can be found here:
Over the course of the Tuning for Beer World Tour, we visited 17 cities in the US, Canada and Europe, while I managed to stay employed in my aerospace job...
Be sure you do not download or use any of my articles you find posted on the Internet. I don't post any of my articles, and those posted by others are outdated, obsolete and often altered - don't use them. Request my articles directly from me via e-mail request. I even have some articles with some of the tuning methods used on the Tuning Tour Seminars.
So...........your avatar is a true representation of you at work (I have wondered that since joining the forum)
annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd.........
Congratulations on all your accomplishments and thanks for helping others..........now I have this problem with the thing on the right side..............!!!!!!
That's great. I am a proud member of the "Tuning For Beer" alumni.
Both my '72 & myself were in attendance of the Detroit 2006 tour where my car got the "treatment". This came on the heals of a complete rebuild of my carb & a recurve of my distributor by Lars. That carb performs flawlessly to this day.
A true legend in his time.
In this pic, Lars has wheeled his engine dyno around so that the exhaust is pointed out of his "Viking Bar and Corvette Garage" and is serenading his neighbors on his court. Note the "one-handed" tuning trick.

Lars is a true enthusiast, expert and mentor. Here's a shot from the Seattle leg of his tuning for beer tour. He's all about "teaching a man to fish".
Not many people left on the planet that know how to tune carbs & dizzys the way this man does. His pleasure is making sure there are others out there who get the same enjoyment out of making these old beasts run to their full potential. And if you've ever taken a post-tune test drive with Lars behind the wheel, you'll know what I mean! Too much fun!
