The first time I noticed the Vectors was in the mid 70's when Car Craft Magazine did a project car called The Big Banana. Believe it or not, it was considered "cutting edge" back then with the custom wide body kit and modified engine. The wheels were necessary to accentuate the wide body when the newest Corvettes came with only 8" wheels.
Some more not-great pics of my Vectors on my '73 and I think Hurricaines (?) on my '80. I didnt care for these wheels on this car and took them off, too busy.
I like mine (Hurricanes I believe) a lot... Bit OT though!:
Like your classic Ford truck. The Ford trucks of these years/body style and their counterpart Chevy/GMC trucks from this time are the best looking trucks of all time. New truck styling is hideous (like almost all new car styling).
Looks like Big Banana was based on a '74 (looking at the front nose). Color looks like Corvette Bright Yellow. Nice choice (I am biased since my '75 is also CBY).
