Hi Adam,
The fasteners are the originals and have been replated.
The actuators have paint on them.
I'm learning about zinc plating and the dichromate wash now. When I get a bit more experience and courage I'll attempt them.
Regards,
Alan

Alan...

You SHOULD create a web site for all those photos and make them available to the public. Just charge $1 per photo to download (Pay Pal). For larger downloads, have 'bulk' discounts. In the end, it would pay for the website and also might cover the costs of all that film!!

Hi 7T1,
Yes, it would!
But then it would all begin to act like a business, and the pleasure of just trying to be a help would soon disappear.
Maybe in my next life!
Regards,
Alan

My question to Alan would be more of HOW he manages to find the right picture so quickly (or at all), especially with that volume in the archive.

And I'll give another to my few dealings with Alan outside of the forum, class act all the way.

Alan-

Like others have said, I am constantly blown away by your attention to detail and willingness to share what you do/know with the rest of us. If I could do half as well as you do, I would be happy.

A very sincere 'THANK YOU' to you.

Alan's photos have always amazed me; not just the quality of them, but the fact that he has just about anything that someone asks about!

That was the main thing that inspired me to start this post. He seems to have so many photos that show details which are a real help to others.

You know Alan... I happen to know a guy that owns a graphic design / web design business. I see him every morning when I look in the mirror. It's that guy from my avatar + about 48 years or so.

A while back, I was PM'n with Alan about a part he was seeking when preparing for his flight judging. I had commented that I thought it was the most perfect C3 there was in the world, and was worthy of great admiration by all.
This was his response:

It's just a low-option car. Nothing special.

My a$$!!!

Great car, and greatest forum member EVER!!

I have not been a member as long as many others here, but the
time I have spent restoring my 73, Alan has been a source of extensive
knowledge. I can always expect the answer he gives will be correct and usually
include photo's to demonstrate the answer.

Alan, you are truly a treasure to the forum and to the many, like me, who
rely on you giving of your experience to help us through our many problems.

I thank you.

Donnie
