Default windshield molding question

Is there supposed to be a molding or trim strip on the lower edge of the windshield glass in a 68? I can find no photos which show what it should look like. Mine has chrome strips on top and sides but only the glass and sealer on the bottom.

The only trim at the bottom would be on the rear of the windshield wiper door.

Part of the reason for my asking is that it appears the windshield was replaced some time ago and the application of the sealer on the bottom edge of the windshield looks like it was done by a drunk going over railroad tracks- really rough and non-factory appearing. It's not in plain view, fortunately.

Hi r,
Originally the sealer used was placed near the edge on most of the windshield but a few inches up from the bottom edge of the 'dip'.
Regards,
Alan

The trim on the bottom, in addition to the stainless strip that clips to the back of the wiper door, are two small trim pieces that attach to the front fenders. These pieces are different from 1968 to later years, one has a longer radius next to the windshield vertical post (though I can't remember which is which) See photo below, not sure which year this is. Also note that these trim pieces should be painted body color except for the bead on the top.
